Here are some ideas on weapon skills. The goal was to make sure every type of weapon had one critical and one elemental property to each type of weapon. Also, to keep balance and not overpower one weapon:

Archery:

• Delivers a 2-hit attack, ammunition permitting, critical hit varies with TP.

Axe:

• An inaccurate single hit attack which deals double damage, accuracy varies with TP

Club:

• Deals a 2-hit attack, damage varies with TP

Dagger:

• Single hit attack, critical hit varies with TP

Great Axe:

• Single hit attack which deals earth elemental damage, damage varies with TP

Great Katana:

• A single hit attack, critical hit varies with TP.

Great Sword:

• Delivers a 3-hit attack, critical hit varies with TP.

Hand-to-Hand:

• 2-hit attack which deals water elemental damage.

Katana:

• A four-hit attack, critical hit varies with TP.

Marksmanship:

• Delivers a 2-hit attack, ammunition permitting, critical hit varies with TP.

Polearm:

• Deals lightning elemental damage, damage varies with TP.

Scythe:

• Deals a 3-hit attack, critical hit varies with TP.

Staff:

• Single hit attack, critical hit varies with TP.

Sword:

• Deals a 2-hit attack, damage varies with TP.

Question regarding the following:

Apex Arrow Archery RNG/SAM
Last Stand Marksmanship THF/RNG/COR

Previous ranged WS's for SAM or THF you had to sub RNG or COR to get access to them, with these new meritted WS will they be available without the need of a ranged sub job?

Ok i merrited to have the katana ws i meet all requirements but i can not use it. Ws shows up as a "." in ws menu.

A lot of the new spells and abilities have been appearing on the test server as "." I recommend posting it as a bug in the test server bug report forum.

I know Archery and Marks WS are typically similar but it wouldn't hurt to make more unique WS. Not to mention Jishnu's already 3 hit crit, so 2 hit crit wouldn't really do anything for you, unless it's more powerful than Jishnu's which would just piss me off. I think Fudo's more in danger than anything, it's already sub-par compared to the multi-hit crit WS that other Emp weapons get, but if the new one is decent I may have to go back to Kikugosaku lol.

That aside, any discussion on the fact you apparently can only max 3 or unlock all 14 with lvl 1? Personally I'd prefer it if you could unlock them all to use them, and be able to max out 3. I don't mind paying 15 merits to unlock each but I want the ability to be able to use them all while still focusing on my main jobs. I mean yeah, you don't need to have every weaponskill unlocked, but even if you have a couple jobs to focus on you'll probably want at least 4-5 weapon skills, even then you won't be able to cap or unlock them all. At the very least, you let us cap merits in 4 weapon skills currently, so shouldn't we at least be able to cap the WS in that many weapons?
