So I bought the game a long time ago, played it briefly and then stopped. And then a friend of mine was playing it recently, so I pulled it out, and started again, and I am enjoying myself with it now :D

On another note, I'm playing with a fairly old disc version, and I've realised a lot has come out since then. I'm looking into updating my version, but I'm wondering if I'll lose my character in the process, as it seems the easiest/best/cheapest way would be to buy the ultimate abyssea edition (or whatever it's called :P ).

So does anyone know the best way to update my game with the expansions and stuff without losing my character? :o

(I think I have two expansions at the minute, just so everyone knows)

If you buy an ultimate edition all you do is log into your account and add the expansions to your account using the product code it comes with, than just install the ultimate edition to your pc/ps2/3/xbox360 and log in with your regular account and you're good to go, won't lose any of your characters :)

Just buy a copy, and apply the code to your current account. I believe you can buy and download the game directly from Square-Enix for $10 at their site (http://store.na.square-enix.com/store/sqenixus/en_US/pd/productID.241238700), since it is on sale. I think that buying the game at this time also gets you the hat, which helps whenever you are under level 30.

Edit: If you are on the Xbox 360, you can supposedly get the game for $10 as well, but the links on the Playonline website (http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/intro/shop.html) for it don't lead to any site that does sell it for $10.
