Because I'm an Xbox 360 user, I'm very familiar with the warning against exiting from playonline and/or FFXI using the guide button to return to the dashboard or shutting down before properly logging out and exiting playonline. Given the time it takes to install and update FFXI, I really can not fathom the thought of having any playonline or ffxi data corrupted do to not logging off properly. I've made it a habit to use /shutdown text command in my mog house or where ever safe if I can't get to it to avoid having use /logout and backing into playonline to log off.
However tonight, when I shutdown, the screen went black but froze, causing an improper shutdown. I made sure to shut off my xbox and start up Playonline to restart it since a possible corruption warning always shows up when not logging off playonline the proper way. This has happened at least three times over the last 4 months. This only really bothers me because I really don't want my installation of the game to be corrupted and if that happens, I really don't know if I'l be playing again. You know... installing and updating FFXI is a HUGE pain on consoles.
