I think some of the tier 2 Merits should be changed for ALL jobs, for melee those merit which are Job Traits should be removed and given to the job by default at a certain level. example Iron will, Ninja Tool Expertise, Winning Streak, Overwhelm etc
And for mages Spells and BloodPacts that are learnable as merits should be removed and made available via scrolls (and blood pacts learned by avatars at level 75) example: Protectra 5, Blind 2 Flare 2 etc

And Replace those Merits with all new ones, ie merited Job Abilities

Why? That's the question poping out of my brain.
Just for instance making spells learnable through scrolls while JAs and traits will be automaticly be there will just lead in a new economy bubble where those spells will be sold at the AH for skyrocketing prices.

Atm. it's more comfortably to increase the number of merits you can spend per group, add a new group or add new meritable JAs/traits/spells/what ever within the existing groups while increasing the ammount of merits you can spend per group without increasing the max number of merits you can spend per meritable JA/trait/spell/what ever.

The spells are sold from NPC for cheap and dropped from Abyssea chests. Anyone who has them merited learns them automatically.

For spells and abilities anyways, they should keep the merit part that improves the spell/ability in many cases, but
make them learned by default... well, or just make it so you can cap them all out. Having to choose between Phalanx II working and other enfeebles working is kinda crappy for example.

The problem still remains - you want to punish players who didn't merited the spells yet while you allready know that SE won't sell high level spells that cheap and even if they drop the AH prices will skyrocketing for month - remember Phalanx - it's still the most overpriced spell in this game.
