It seems very sad to me that you make the new upgrades possible from both the non-upgraded and the upgraded version, especially since they will reach the same potency eventually. Can you give us some reasoning on this?

When I heard that relic armor was going to be upgraded further, I thought it was a great idea. By making this armor more useful, it would push people back to dynamis, hopefully revitalizing the groups that have been struggling to hold together. The recent dynamis changes have been very hard on groups that were stable for years.

A great deal of the work involved with relic armor is getting that upgrade to +1. It has never been terribly difficult to obtain the base gear(save for a few glacier and xarcabard items that are now far too easy to get, in my opinion); one simply joined a dynamis linkshell, worked with them for a few months, and generally had all the gear they wanted. Getting the +1 version was significantly more work. It not only involved getting the -1 to drop, but also collecting some currency and paying craftsman to make a specific item. By bypassing this step, people will spend less time in dynamis, which seems to be odd after all the talk of "revitalizing" dynamis. I would push that the upgrades should only be possible from the +1 version, not from the base version.

Beyond that, can you give us any clue as to what items are required? I hope that at least some of these these are high-level craftable items that don't drop from any mobs or chests, and hopefully not just synergy items.

I was a little dumbfounded when I read this. When it was announced that relic were going to +2s, a few friends and I casually low maned areas while upgrading pieces each week. The only reason why I think SE would do something like this is that they can't/wont change the week wait time on +1 upgrades.

Is there anything particularly wrong with being limited to doing one piece a week?

Why does this make you sad?

Why does this make you sad?

Because it is making a lot of the dynamis content unnecessary. It is overlooking a good opportunity to give people reason to do dynamis content, allowing them to bypass that by doing the new trials.

Actually a question nobody has posted yet which I hope gets answered is will relic armor with the "Ehances Effect II" still be required to wear to get the effect full time or can we please finally macro swap out pieces for something better once we use our JAs?

Case in Point, Abyss Sollerets you have to wear them fulltime to get the bonus from Last Resort. I'm hoping the newer version only requires you to have them on and not wear them to maintain any type of bonus.

I have yet seen a full disclourse, per job, of what these upgrades have to offer. I feel the af3 have pretty much broke the mode on class needs and wants. Perhaps, these new upgrades will be useful macro pieces. Right now, it is too early to say. I'll wait and see before I throw My chips in.

Relic +0 will have a far more taxing trial then relic +1, so it will not be wasted time to go the +1 route if you can.

Because it is making a lot of the dynamis content unnecessary. It is overlooking a good opportunity to give people reason to do dynamis content, allowing them to bypass that by doing the new trials._1 dose not make dynamis. Forgoing the need to have to +1 first, makes the items EXTREMELY more accessable to everyone and not just the "my relic is my life" end game ass holes. Pluse you're missing one major fact. What the first trial turns it into and what the second trial turns it into are different items. Thus, people will need to get the base again if they want both and in the prosess, adding a lot more currency into the market.
