Iv had this problem a few time's, and I'm sure a lot of you also have had this issue. When someone asks for the position of something in an area, and you can't remember it off the top of your head and need to look at the map, but you can only do it in that area. If your far off and that area isn't easy to get too, that leaves the person asking for help pretty much screwed. And having to look it up online can be a hassle, if not an option for most people. So what i suggest is allowing us to view our map's in any area, either through the key item's by clicking on the map and given options of witch map to view, or through a text command like /map East Sarutabaruta and allow us to view our markers.

I would really love that feature, I've often wished to have that myself.

I've asked for this very thing in the feedback form mail every xmas, along with the ability to mark a spot on map for them. My friends are perpetually lost. :o

Oh, i just realized someone else that would be nice, if it's possible, have linkshell member's and friends location's displayed on the map also. Not sure if they could do that, but it would be nice. Give them direction's if they're lost, like say in the jungle's or they don't have the map them self's yet.

excellent idea. I, too, have had trouble remembering how to tell someone which in direction they wanted to go. I have a second laptop on which I can pull up ffxi-atlas.com but not everyone has that luxury. Besides, it would just be easier to do it in-game. The maps are already in our key items, they could just add a feature on it where when you examine it, the map pulls up. I'm not a computer programmer but it seems to me like it would be an extremely easy thing for them to implement.

One would think that going to your permanent items and 'examining' a map would display... well... the map. lol
