View Full Version : FFXI Soundtrack on backorder

VoiceMemo

Anyone else get an email of the soundtrack being on back order, even though you've preordered it MONTHS before the release date. This really disappoints me as the whole purpose of a preorder is to insure that enough are made to satisfy it. This is poor planning on SE's part or whoever is handling the CD sales.

Please pass on my dissatisfaction with the CD preorder to the appropriate channels.

I got the email too. I seem to remember the same sort of thing happening with the Hori Clock. Classic SE.

I am curious if any were sent out or if everyones' order is delayed.

Hey gang, I checked into this for you all. Basically the email you received is simply an automated message that is generated when the item(s) in your order are not available to be shipped on the pre-determined release date (in this case, on 11/15). While the message does say it's "out of stock" and makes it seem like your order is up in the air, the notice is simply being generated and sent because the products are not yet in stock in our system to send out. So hang tight, your orders are fine and there's no need to worry! :)

Relating to the soundtrack for some of us that did get it, how do I claim the Spinet? I'm not sure if you sent directions in different languages to different regions, but I pre-ordered mine out of a retailer in Hong Kong and the instructions are all in Japanese...that is if I'm looking at the right thing.

I'm not sure if you sent directions in different languages to different regions, but I pre-ordered mine out of a retailer in Hong Kong and the instructions are all in Japanese...that is if I'm looking at the right thing.

Let me try to translate the instructions for you:

① Logon to the Square-Enix Account Management System page, choose "Select Service" from the menu list on the left, then click on "Final Fantasy XI", then there is a blue button on top that says something like "Click here for Service Account Contract" (which links to a page to enter registration codes, item campaign codes).

② Enter the 20-digit campaign code you got in your soundtrack CD's, then choose the service account (POL account) linked to the square-enix account, and subsequently one character within the service account to receive the item.

③ Logon to the game as the selected character, then go to the Festive Moogle (there are three: Sandoria Port J-9; Bastok Port J-13; Windurst Walls C-14, all are just outside of Moogle House exits) and talk to it to claim the Spinet.

I hope the above information helps~ Be reminded that the code is good through 31 December 2012, so you should have sufficient time! lol.

And I do believe you need to have transferred the POL account to the Square-enix account this time to claim the campaign item. (while before registration could be done within the POL viewer, now we need to do it separately in a browser on the SE account management page).

Enjoy the spinet, though somehow it seems that the volume of BGM it plays is independent to the "BGM volume" setting within the game configuration.

Does this also include the code for the new Spinet furniture? My worry is that because it says backorder, that it's now the 2nd printing of the CD, where it said:

As a special bonus, the first edition of the soundtracks will include an in-game item code redeemable for a "Spinet" — a Juenoan-styled keyboard furnishing plays a song at random from a selection of 11 songs every time you enter your Mog House!

Will we still be guaranteed the code for the Spinet?

If I don't get codes, all my disks go back...

I ordered them to get them here in time for my wife's birthday to give her one, and your delightful delay just messed that plan up. Now I was hoping to give them as a Christmas gift for everyone. But no Spinet = dealbreaker. I like the music, but the reason I ordered the number I did was so we all got the items...

Um Bayohne, I think you need to double check that. I just emailed and they said that, in fact, it IS out of stock, there is NO eta on shipping the item, and they did not confirm whether or not we'd receive the first edition bonuses we were promised.

it's been one week and we haven't heard anything else. I really hope we get the cd that comes with the ingame item code. :(

This doesn't sound legitimate to me. I thought the only way to get it was through SE's online store?

My Japanese soundtrack just arrived (I ordered from Play-Asia) and my code for the Spinet registered just fine on my EU account - thought I'd post just to let others know.

Proof :) Really pleased that the code worked - and shame on you Square Enix for forgetting about your European fans. I have to say that I'm really disappointed in our treatment in regard to this CD - I expected more.

Thanks for mentioning that. I shall take upon the adventure and see if I can get one from there as well. The shipping costs can almost double the price, but oh well, I think I will take the risk and choose the cheapest way there is, if I am able to give them my money that is. It wont work with me "main-bank", so will need some days to work it out!

Are we going to get an actual answer. Has anyone who ordered from SE actually received a copy or even a notification on when or if they would send it. Is it only people who ordered from other retailers that received a copy and why?

I ordered the CD from Square Enix Boutique and had it send to a sister of mine in Belgium. It arrived last week, and the spinet is now happily playing things like Ragnarok and Ronfaure (although it seems to prefer Selbina for some reason.)

Shame it doesn't play a duet with the harpsichord ;D

You also get a bonus CD called PlayOnline PLUS, but I only recognised a few of the tracks.

I just got a confirmation email an hour ago about my order of Soundtrack PLUS being shipped. However, without confirmation from SE reps as to whether or not the delayed shipment (originally the 15th of November) is still the initial pressing with the Spinet, is up for debate.

Have no fear. All copies of the soundtrack that are being sent out include the Spinet in-game bonus item. Things were slightly delayed due to the holidays, as I'm sure you can imagine. Hope you all enjoy your soundtrack!

Personally, I'm ever more confused by the fact people who ordered off retailers got it before people who ordered directly from SquareEnix.

Didn't want to include the seller I bought it from because I suspected there must've been some rule against solicitation when posting on these forums, but since somebody else mentioned Play-Asia, I ordered my copy from YesAsia.

Any idea when they will be sent out? This was supposed to be a birthday gift but was pushed back for a Christmas gift. If it's not sent out soon I'm gonna have to spend that money on something else for the holidays, gotta have a gift under the tree.

edit- guess I should have checked emails before forums, looks like it is being shipped out today. Yay!

Hey gang! Glad to hear you're getting your shipment confirmations now!
I wanted to include a link to our Support Center that details how to redeem your Spinet in-game reward item for those of you unfamiliar with the new procedure (since moving over to the Square Enix Account Management System). Here's the link: http://sqex.to/UcS

And here are the steps for easy reference!

How to Register the Spinet
Please follow the steps below to redeem the reward code and receive the item:

Log in to the Square Enix Account Management System, select "Select Services" from the side menu, select "FINAL FANTASY XI," and then select the "Add a service account" button.
Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the reward code and select which FINAL FANTASY XI character will retrieve the item.
After registration, log in to FINAL FANTASY XI with the character you selected and go to any of the three starting nations to retrieve the item from a Festive Moogle.

The Festive Moogles will be placed near Mog Houses in the following areas:
Port San d’Oria (J-9), Windurst Walls (C-14), Port Bastok (J-13)
You can retrieve the item from a Festive Moogle in any area.

Notice
Please ensure you have registered a FINAL FANTASY XI content ID and created a character before registering the reward code.
This campaign is limited to one reward code per character. Even if a different code is used, that character will not be able to accept more than one item.
Reward codes cannot be re-used, or re-issued to another character.
Codes cannot be exchanged, refunded or re-issued.
This item is Rare/Ex meaning that it cannot be given to other characters, sold at an auction house, or sent using the delivery service.

Wow, paid on 29th I think, and noticed the day after that it was shipped later that day, even though being not in stock and "Usually ships within 2 to 4 weeks". Did not expect that, haha.

Shall see if it ever gets here, though, and in what shape!
Seems way too good to be.

So I got my CD in the mail today, but I'm having trouble entering the code for the Spinet. From what I read the code is supposed to be 20 characters yet mine is only 16. The website has spaces for 20 characters, and it won't accept my 16 digit code. Anyone have the same problem or am I missing something painfully obvious?

Bayohne

The in-game item code should appear on a black and white piece of paper and is indeed 20 characters long.
The rectangular, colored paper with a 16 digit code is for Square Enix Members point redemption (for Japanese Members accounts).

Thank you for all this information. Would have been better if SE had posted this information on the order page. Received my CD today and was searching all over the place for the proper way to register. Even sent an e-mail to support for help. Only stumbled over this post while reviewing the lastest from the site. Would have missed it if I waited 1 more day. BTW am enjoying the music

Thanks for your quick response on this Bayohne. I really appreciate it. I found the code and got my Spinet earlier today. Kinda sucks though that NA players can't use the other code on the Member Site to get points. It would've been an extra added bonus for this purchase. A little bit goes a long way with your players.

It's not too clear at all; those bits of paper can be easily deceiving, and you're not the only one (nor the last one I daresay) having not noticed the right string right away, or even later. ^^;
