You've Spoken and We've Heard You
You, the community, have clearly expressed your dissatisfaction with our billing system transition—and we are listening. We now understand that the options we presented you did not meet the level of service you have come to expect from Square Enix, so we have been working hard to address these concerns.

Accordingly, we will be extending the transfer cut-off date until we are able to implement the following improvements:
- New credit card payment options for Crysta [Available Now]
- The ability to specify exactly how much Crysta you want to buy [Early Fall]
- New recurring payment credit card options [Mid Fall]

We hope these steps show our ongoing commitment to you, our fans. It is our goal to make the FINAL FANTASY XI experience as fun and rewarding as possible.

Also in the days to come we'll reveal details for new offers and incentives to help ease your transition to the new system.

We sincerely thank you for your continued support of FINAL FANTASY XI.

Yasu Kurosawa
FINAL FANTASY XI North American Online Producer

The least they could do is update us on why no new options are available yet, or when they were pushed back to.

I want to play again but over paying with crysta and the headache of click & buy has caused me to not bother until the new methods are introduced. I conceded defeat at first but once they made that announcement I was excited we were getting the same treatment as the Japanese base. However they have made no new hints or updates on the new methods and implementations and until that happens I won't be paying....which sucks because I wanna play on my THF ; ;

I guess they have a contract or something to fullfill with C&B, so don't hold your breath.

What is sad is, the option to choose exact amount of crysta would probably take them 2 hours to program. The other option, I doubt would be that much longer.

22 DEC 2011 is the first day of winter, so... check back on 21 DEC 2011?
As for contract with C&B, I doubt it's an exclusive contract so no need to renegotiate/cancel it. SE can add other options (like Paypal, credit card) pretty much within a month, there just needs to be willingness to do so. Second grade customers just need wait patiently.

I am sorry, but Click and Buy has been the worst decision that SE has ever made, and to "patch" it they developed crysta...

Please Square Enix, stop that mediocre awful contract with C&B and give us something decent.

I'm quite sure many people agree with me.

I've yet to see my friends from Australia after they went over to the new system, it was something like they had to pay twice as much with Click and Buy I think. Anyway I don't think they will come back anytime soon.

It's very difficult to pump these new payment methods out in reasonable time. Apparently. The least they could have done was unneuter POL's ability to register products in the meantime.

Well I guess SE isn't going to acknowledge this.

They're really failing to show any commitment keeping no dialogue at all on this subject. It's as if they just posted it to shut people up. Guess it worked.

And what happened to these details for new offers and incentives? The Rounsey Wand hardly counts.

This topic seriously needs a response from SE. My subscription runs out tonight, and due to getting busier in RL with Christmas coming up, I have less time to play. I'll probably be taking a break from the game for a month or two, but if SE still hasn't said anything regarding this matter by then I probably won't bother coming back. I'm specifically looking for word on the ability to purchase exact amounts of Crysta.

Seriously, in this day and age it doesn't take this long to figure this stuff out. I make complex web pages all the time, so I know it's not a development issue. This isn't game development, there are no limitations or "Too much work for our 2 man team". We're entering 2012, we got the internet and cell phones... Communicating with people has never been easier, so it can't be a communication issue either.

Seriously, if there have been unforeseen delays, then just say so and maybe explain what they are. Believe it or not, most of us are in our 20s, even 30s. We're not kids, we know stuff happens. But saying nothing at all is the worst thing you can possibly do, because it makes you look like a liar.

If you do finally respond, I may reactivate my subscription even if I don't have time to play, depending on what you say. I mostly care about acknowledgement of the current situation right now more than anything.

Well I guess SE isn't going to acknowledge this. They don't respond to payment threads anyway.

I've never had any real issues with C&B outside of forgetting my password due to having to use special characters in it, and they reset it within 12hrs of contacting their Customer Service by email.

I do prefer the new payment system, and this is part of the reason why. I lived in the UK when I first created two of my accounts, so I used to be charged in GBP. I moved back to Norway, and they started charging me Euro for one account, and GBP for the other. This resulted in me paying two fairly different sums in NOK (Norwegian Kroner), for the exact same service (differences due to mules accounted for). With the new system, all 3 of my accounts (yes, I'm crazy) are paid in Euro, and it actually means I'm paying slightly less than I was before.

I think a lot of the negativity towards C&B is just based on "I heard this on a forum online" or "A friend of a friend who knows a janitor who knows some guy who got ripped off by them". It basically boils down to people not liking change. If they had made Paypal the only accepted payment method, you'd have complaints then too.

I think they'll add more payment options, but unless someone is losing a significant amount of money per month by using C&B, by the time they add the new method, a lot of people will probably have forgotten that they were demanding more options and will be too lazy to change over after all.

I really wish they say something about it soon or I'll be forced to take a break from the game. :(
