I'm returning to the game and missed the Wings of Goddess Expansion pack. No local stores still carry it and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to download it from Square. Thanks in advance.

This also includes a special in-game item code, so I would recommend purchasing this instead of just the expansion, which is the same price.

That's a ridiculous thing to say. Its simply the same price or cheaper for more stuff right now.

Thanks, but the link is for PC. I'm playing on PS2/PS3. If the Abyssea stuff on the log in page is the same then I can do that and it would solve my problem.

You're SOL. It's not sold anywhere for PS2 anymore.
The abyssea stuff is not the same. It's actually included in the version update data. It's not downloaded separately.
If you're on these forums, then you clearly have access to a PC. Plug a controller in and use that. Want to sit on the coouch? hook your PC to a TV. Bam, instant "PS2" with better graphics.

Check out eBay and elsewhere(Amazon). Someone somewhere is selling the software, and the price might not be pretty. Just make sure it's your region.

You just need Ralphie's secret decoder ring from Ovaltine. That's the trick. Works great. Just ask Ralphie.

I'm still wondering why SE won't just offer the core FFXI files and expansion pack files via the POL Viewer itself.
It's silly that you can buy the individual expansion pack keys from the SE Account system, but not have the files provided to you.

Sorry, but my smartphone can't run FINAL FANTASY XI ONLINE. It can totally browse these forums, though.
Also, totally can't hook up my computer - or my iPhone, without an extra cable - to a pre-HDMI TV. Do you know how many people still use pre-HDMI TVs? Did you know the PS2 does not have an HDMI port but instea uses RGB or coaxial?
Seriously, you make waaay too many wrong assumptions here.You can do better. So do better. Think before you post.
