They wouldn't be so bad if they subsided more quickly. As is, I've used a counteragent on one, went to get a rockhopper, only to have it be back within a couple minutes, thus forcing me to use another counteragent unless I felt like waiting 5 minutes or whatever.

Whatever they did in a patch a while back to up their frequency, no doubt in relation to people complaining about being unable to complete the related quest, was too much. They don't really add anything to the zone other than a nuisance.

There's actually an item (Miasmal Counteragent) you can synth if you have started a certain Abyssea quest (Hazy Prospects) to get rid of them temporarily. Unfortunately it only works on the targetable Abyssea version. It would be nice if all the Dark Miasma in both the Abyssea and normal zone were targetable and removable...

There is an npc who reports on the air quality, maybe if more people did the quest where you neutralize the flowers and also used more counteragent, maybe they'd spawn less.

Not really a permanent solution, and I suspect this value resets on server downtimes and such. From the alchemy perspective, each one of these potions costs like 1000g to synth thanks to the Sieglinde Putty sold by the NPC and other material costs. Since it's rough to predict how many miasma you may be bumping into, or even how long you may be in the zone, demanding people carry a stack or two can be both costly and an inventory sucker.

Wouldn't be so bad if using a potion guaranteed like 10-15 minutes of no showing up, but that's simply not the case. I feel bad for anyone spamming the Rockhopper quests these days because the miasma near the eruca NM hinders the quickest route frequently.

Of all the aby zones, this one is the most annoying, with the hardest drop in AF3 Feet... Could they please at least adjust the drop rate? and get rid of the miasma as well? It is one of the most annoying thing in the game ever -this would be a welcome quality of game life adjustment. One that is looooooong overdue - but probably will not be implemented.

Attohwa actually should have a higher chance to get what you want in terms of feet, considering there are only 6 jobs in that area. (So you get what you want faster, than the what, 9 jobs for Vunkerl)

On topic Miasma sucks and is only useful for bathroom breaks when you autorun into it so you can actually accomplish something while waiting (even if all that accomplishment amounts to is emptying your bladder.)

The drop rate is much higher on other zones, partly because of those cruor party. Attowa is the worst zone for mainly anything. They should at least rebalance monster distribution so people can make cruor party easily.

That has absolutely NO correlation to drop rates...just because you get 100 in 10000 kills and 70 in 5000 kills due to area popularity, doesnt mean that the 100/1000 has a higher drop rate.

I have all the feet, finished attohwa first because of ukon and cleaving chigoes for time

not hard when you just get down and do it with a WHM or RDM + any type of WAR or BLU, even NIN or THF can do it, if not solo.

I still remember the very first day I realized they changed it. I was trying to zone Tunga to flux 5, was blocked by the wall of black smoke that I miraculously could not run through, and promptly became Mrs. Tunga on the spot. We currently have three children, actually, two boys and one girl. Junga, Bunga, and Lunga.

yeah tbh, as much as the miasma is annoying, miasma counteragent is a god send for vnm teir 2

The number of Dark Miasma in Abyssea vary depending on certain conditions, and if we remove the Dark Miasma it would make it difficult to complete certain quests. However, if the amount of players in Abyssea start to decrease, it would be difficult to maintain these conditions. We will look into making adjustments if that starts to happen.

I also made sure to forward your counteragent feedback to the dev. team so they will keep that in mind. ;)

if you're not going to remove them, tell us the condition, can a lighter get rid of them

Alternatively, keep a few of them (say, 3 for example) for quest purposes, preferably ones that are easy to get around, and remove the other ones. I would love to be able to get to erucas from 7 again...

Seeing two options when it comes to tweaking counteragents. First is to let them keep a Miasma away for 10-15m like I noted earlier. Another is that one synth yields 12 potions. Though, I suppose they could also lower the cost of the NPC material to like 100g or less.

Well I suggest everyone work on Emps or something more often than not for Attohwa. As things stand most people probably only learn as much as they need to as they go along during groups or atma farming. I've learned my way inside and out of that place by now so walls of smoke don't concern me beyond being a massive annoyance when you find them up after a considerable walking journey from point A to B. Oh, there's a wall? Okay well I know exactly how to get around this. Making a note: Before I make my next trip here, craft counter agents, dumbass.

I've made that note like two dozen times now and still haven't done it. Dumbass.
