Getting bored, should I server jump and if so where...?

Getting bored on Asura.

/sh are dwindling to nothing. Am 0/9 on a good aby ls (if you have to brew Carabosse you are not a good aby ls), no one is doing einherjar (sp?), limbus, salvage or anything else either. Some VW /sh but its mainly about 3 ppl who lead them but I have yet to get anything than crafting items so I am meh about it. Basically I am just getting bored on ffxi. Asura used to be fun and active but lately its a snorefest. Not sure if ppl are leaving the game or have found such perminant ls they havent needed to /sh anymore.

Any servers that are still active that could use a couple good players? Myself and at least one of my friends wants to make a jump but with a 90 day wait between and $30 per we find it scary to just go somewhere. If you have any suggestions please let us know.

Bro.... the same thing is happening on Pheonix... it would not surprise me if all servers are experiencing the same thing. I think I am about to quit again... There seems to be no good shouts lately looks like most people are done with doing old content. Can find a shout here and there for VW but most are turned off by the worthless drops, they don't see the purpose of VW. I still need some +2 but what is the point if I am never really going to use the jobs to do anything?

Various shells on my server still Voidwatch and Abyssea fairly regularly. I lead a VW shell that's recruiting, and my older Endgame shell still does 1/week Einherjar for fun. A friend of mine still does salvage I think, but I don't know that the server as a whole does it much.

As far as shouts go, there are a couple groups that shout for high tier voidwatch pretty regularly. I can't speak to Abyssea shouts though, since I don't pay any attention to those.

Yeah I am spending more time staring at my screen than anything and I am getting dreadfully bored of 200 of this kill and 250 of that for my magians trials. /sigh I've been playing this game for so many years now I hate to just walk away but its just gotten so boring. Tried starting a couple ls of my own but you can give out 30 pearls and have only 3 ppl show up for events. After awhile you just give up.

If I cant find a new server I may be forced to just find a new game to play. I just dont know what to do about things ; ;

Sever jumping won't do anything to alleviate boredom.

Shiva is definitely busier than what you're describing, but if you're just bored with the game, changing servers won't do much to change that (it's also just going to make it worse for everyone else there).

If it's THAT bad, just wait for a server merge and save the money.

Bismarck isn't too bad. It has it's share of people that aren't too bright, but isn't bad overall. There is some decent linkshells. It all depends what kind of linkshell you looking to find. If your interested I can give you better rundown of it. Just send me a PM on FFxiah.com.

No one makes LS's anymore because you really don't need them for anything.

We also used to have Pchan and GDW, but we successfully scared them away. Another testiment to our awesomeness. Now we only need to get rid of Vigor and we're pretty much perfect.

Describing Asura perfectly, hence why Im wondering where to go and what to do. If I wanted to play a game solo and inlist the help of 'slaves' I would just play offline without the monthly bill and control all the chars myself as you do in any offline game. But I like the MMOverse and like to play with others. I've had better experiences with ppl on WoW than I have with ppl on Asura, and that does not speak well for the server by any means

There are many members quitting Final Fantasy XI for the most part, So any server ya thinking of jumping to, I would say its not worth the money... Square Enix should make it channels and get with the times, Your a fool "Not saying you are!" if your going to pay to jump servers. What is happening to your server is/will happen to most servers. This might be the reason why.

Question really is, We bought the game why should we be charged for both game+online subscription.. Once Dec 2012 comes around. I really don't see many on FFXI nor FFXIV for that matter, There is many more new updated games that's going to be released lets face it FFXI is old.. Once FFXI gets the ok to be ported to PS Vita its going to kill the game even more.

Old system:"Quests/Missions/HNMs/Parties/ect.. not working well with the level raise and abyssea kinda killed the game. Don't get me wrong it was cool when it 1st came out!!! But it got old fast... =/

New content: N/A

Also its not your fault your server is dieing so why the hell should you have to pay.. food for thought! :D "Channels!!" Take down the walls and let us all unite! "Down with the servers" :p

I'm stuck in the same situation in Asura. As you know since u were once in my ls lol but we cant get ppl for anything. Tried many a tactic to get ppl for different things and no one ever really stuck. I would give out pearl after pearl, have events set up and no one would show. Didnt really have this problem back in the day on pheonix nor did I have it on Asura pre-aby. Had a fairly decent dyna ls going for awhile and was able to set up statics for things like nyzul with no issue. Ppl showed up and were eager to get things done. Which we did and well. Story has changed big time tho. I spend more time in ffxiv than on ffxi due to not finding a good ls or being able to start a ls for my +2 and my empy/relic axes. Surprising as it is, I have more to do in ffxiv that I have in xi right now. No one even talks in my ls anymore beyond a hello.

I am also dreadfully bored on Asura and frankly a lil behind on my gear since I refuse to pay someone 200-300k per drop for +2 or empy items and cant get ppl to show for anything. Maybe we can jump together lol but really not sure if its worth it anymore, game seems to be fizzling out

Biggest problem I have on Odin is finding players at/around my skill level. I'm far from pro (been playing casually since launch) but far from n00b. I don't like running pick up groups because I'll either pick up someone who has no idea what they're doing, or pick up someone who gets annoyed by the people who don't know what they're doing a bails half way through the run.

Any time I feel like dealing with that, however, I can find people to play with :) If you're eager to jump, I'd say Odin is a nice landing pad.

No, you don't if all you want is easy to obtain gear.

Look at Malekith, no one particularly likes him beyond a couple of groupies and he has what, 5 emps including ochain? He shouted for, at minimum, 3 of those.

Now if you want VW or Einherjar or Salvage(w/o mules) gear, you might need some friends

Meh I dont do VW the drop rates seem so bad that I stopped even bothering with that crap. Tried an endgame ls that was going to be doing all the old content but no one was interested so it died before it even started. Had no probs doing that stuff pre-aby but now its like pulling teeth to get anyone on a scedule for something outside
