View Full Version : Wings of the Goddess Super Boss
When will we be seeing the release or even a hint on the new AV/PW type of boss in the wings area? It was said a long time ago, but we never heard anything else. Is it being put off till the level 99 patch is out already? Would be nice to see some info on this new boss.

Maybe the Last Stand will be WoTG related and this can be the final boss.

the last boss for wotg was a bit disappointing in difficulty. it would be cool if there was a new one... but that dragon looks terrifying!!

they already released it, it's the shadow lord BCNM, but I guess not that hard? the gear was pretty good too ( tiercel necklace still relevant iirc)

The Shadow Lord BC was no where near as difficult as AV/PW were at 75, and that's what cap it was released at. I don't believe that he was the intended Super Boss.
I would like to see something that can stomp lvl99 characters that aren't careful and without the annoyance of triggering XD

You have the main story villain you defeat at the end, isn't it the super witch with horns and wings?
There's also the campaign Mega-boss, so that should be the original Shadowlord which drops the gear, am I missing anything?
What other type of Super-boss should WotG have. The Strong-hold Notorious Monsters have a tier system and I believe there's something to do with a super-boss. What, wait... I never been there yet, this sucks!

RotZ super boss was Kirin.
CoP super boss was Absolute Virtue.

ToAU super boss was Pandemonium Warden.

Notice none of the super bosses are directly linked with the storyline of these expansions. (Spoilars button added for those who haven't finished story) They all require time to farm up, summon adds, and quite a bit of manpower, strategy and time to take down. Or at least, at 75 they did D;
WotG lacks this type of NM, unless it really was meant for the Shadow Lord BC to be super boss, which would be disappointing in my opinion.

Kirin, even when it was new, was in no way comprable to AV or PW.
these are the final nms of the endgame system applied to each expansion, not really story related. kirin - sky, AV - sea PW- znm, DL - dynamis, SL - campaign. Wotg has multiple activities in it, campaign, strongholds, sandworm nms and WoE.
(not to mention pixie nms, ANNM, and probably some others i'm missing.) given all those, you could look to campaign or WoE as the endgame event. i lean more towards WoE being the "endgame" event of WoE due to its scaling.
as such, look to the end of WoE to give you the "final boss" you seek. we have more fluxes coming, so somewhere in there i assume will be the super hard nm.

Kirin, even when it was new, was in no way comprable to AV or PW.This is presumably because the dev team saw Kirin actually getting killed and decided that they made things too easy.

Someone mentioned WoE
Speculation that the "final boss" will be flux 15 (or further?) and will require something from every flux
Dragon looks about right
WoE has so far recieved only recycled mobs, none that are new/exclusive yet. my bet is the dragon is for VW, and might show up in WoE after that.
semi related, all the new models seem toau related, except the demon. my bet is VW part 3 being in aght urgan

Didn't WoE introduce sandworms and monoceros (ixion) models? As well as gnat/ladybug/slug for the NQ mobs.
Edit: totally read WoE as WotG in my mind >.> my bad (typed it too)
wings of the goddess introduced those mobs, as well as pixies, not walk of echoes*

How can anyone consider WOE endgame, lol? Auto-reraise! It's a joke, no matter how many people you need theres still auto-reraise now which means way less strategy required than before the nerf. When WOE first came out, before the easy button overhaul it was to me a truer endgame feel, now its just a joke place to go skill up, hopeful wishing on good drops, and to finish WOE weapons.
I stopped doing WOE after the auto-reraise update. I did a few runs on the higher tiers when it came out (i'll definitly try the next set of tiers when they are released but it's just for the newness and probably won't make me return after i go a few rounds to see what it's about), but with auto-reraise and not getting impressive drops it got boring fast. Before the nerf i didnt care about the drops because it was fun, now I just dont go because the only thing it can offer me are drops, and i can farm elsewhere more effectively.
Oddly though, I enjoy VW and it's drop rate is worse than WOE. Again, I think because theres a sorta challenge in VW that I attend, and of course the newness, lol.
Summary: Challenge good, easy button bad. Drop rate can be meh if there's interest in the event.
At least the shadow lord can still kill players, BEFORE they time out after unlimited reraising.
PS: I almost lost a brew to paralyze and as shocked and mad that I became paralyzed right as I started to brew, I quickly moved my character which caused the brew to fail and not be wasted by the paralyze. If you know your paralyzed, don't use an item. How hard is that? really? What was so wrong with that?

Think the dragon is the light elemental based dragon mentioned in the returning world pop HNM's they are adding. SE mentioned they were adding dragons and new world HNM. Could be WOE or VW, let's see....

This is presumably because the dev team saw Kirin actually getting killed and decided that they made things too easy.
Kirin: Meant is not invincible. Pandemonium Warden wasn't meant to be exactly invincible either, just challenging(even though I never fought him). Absolute Virtue: Not intended to be killed, invincible with a slim chance of kill-ability(though I never fought him either, he does drop lootz) .

I surely hope you enjoy your hamster wheel button theory, it seems that the last team that handled this game did not and created Abyssea, which is one of the most successful expansion ever. Now that another group led by the dominatrix MrT has moved in, expect more hamster wheel activities - unless someone up above in the office decided to curb MrT tendency to "self destruct" everything he touches.
