Details: I have not logged into game since around April 2011, I completed the account transfer and downloaded the latest version updates yesterday and logged into the game this morning, everything seemed fine at first but after around 1 minute I got the standard windows crash message saying playonline viewer was not working and it then auto closed.

Steps:
1. Logged into playonline viewer then into final fantasy XI, viewed various items in mog house, zoned out to port windurst and game crashed.
2. Logged back into pol viewer then into ffxi, presumed zoning had caused an issue and so stayed within 1 zone, game crashed again after roughly 1 minute.
3. Logged back into pol viewer then into ffxi, warped to port jeuno, started to rest to gain swift shoes and game crashed again, (again roughly 1 minute logged in)
4. Logged back into pol viewer then into ffxi, swift shoes was active from prior login, zoned from port jeuno to lower jeuno, then to upper jeuno, then to Ru'lude gardens, game crashed again after around 1 minute of being logged in.

Few questions.
1) What driver package are you using?
2) Does your laptop have switchable graphics?
-On my laptop XI was trying to use the intagrated graphics while playing even though I had it set to
"Video Card: discrete" (only use 335m) in the bios. This remains true even on the current driver (I tested 285.62 on
Oct. 26). The solution on my nVidia laptop was installing nvidia driver 266.58. I never run shadows also, I never have
been able to on any nVida PC that I'v owned or setup for my phriends that play XI.
3) Check that the PlayOnline settings are set to not auto disconnect in the pol dashboard.
-In the past I'v had probs with this even though i had it set in XI in-game "Global Settings" to not auto disconnect.
Seemed like POL was crashing behind the game.
4) Is UAC on or off?
-Some people say you need to turn off UAC to play XI. I never did on my laptop and it works fine but may be worth
a shot. JUST KNOW THAT DOING THIS LOWERS YOUR PCs SECURITY.

Forgot to follow up on this, what a weird forum that you can't lock down your own posts.....

Issue was caused by a corrupt ffximain.dll which re-downloaded via file check and fixed the issue.

Thanks for taking your time to try and help me.
