Ours is a 30 second "bind" effect.
A Mob's petrify status effect can vary from 30 seconds to nearly 5 minutes.
While we are petrified, we are unable to do any actions, similar to that of terror, where as if a mob is petrified, any actions on them breaks them out of petrification just as if it was a bind spell.

Considering earlier Final Fantasy games, when one is petrified, they either take reduced damage or nullified damage due to their petrification status.
Why can't we receive the same in terms of petrification status?
The Sandstorm Mantle is a one of a kind item, however how many of us are going to be carrying around that item?
I'd suggest giving a -30% or so physical damage taken (with that mantle will be -50%), after all, there's more mobs that can cause that status, even with a healer around.
And plus, how many people have been defeated just because they were petrified the whole time while the mob wailed on them? Damage taken while petrified is the same as damage taken while not petrified.
There's a difference between terror and petrification, how about making it so?
