Can we get a clarification on what the "usability enhancements" scheduled for October actually are?

Although compared to further statements from SE, this post will be about as useful as a Pebble in the hands of a Scholar, I do recall what SE said about this earlier, although I don't feel like digging up the post to quote at this time.
They said something about making it so you could see your HP/MP/TP gauge during battle even when you pull up your macro bar. Possibly also your buffs too, but I'm not quite so sure I heard that.

Eh is that it?
I can already see hp/mp/:3 down by the chat log, tyvm. SE, please reallocate your funds into doing something worth while.
If it's more than that, inquiring minds want to know

I believe they said they were doing other adjustments, that's just all I can remember. And I'd like to be able to see TP so I can hold down CTRL or ALT and hit macros the second I get TP personally, since I don't use third party programs that show TP in other places, although I would hope this isn't the only adjustment. I'm pretty sure they said other stuff, I just remember this pretty poorly.
I'd still like to hear what else they plan on doing, I was just trying to help hold over this thread until Monday, when community reps actually post on the forums. :(

How about a 5th utsusemi icon? -_-
Does this include the equipment status screen where more stats such as Ranged Attack will appear?

Didn't they mention access to your storage from any city a couple months ago?

Something was mentioned about the spell casting bar being in the way of stuff iirc.

Maybe it's something so dope that it'll blow our minds, like a fix for the PC client. Or several fixes.

What we need :
* A specific icon for each buff ; For instance on MNK I would like to know if berserk, impetus or counterstance is up without checking the description of the icon bar.
* Complete macro fix : speed, length, please allow us to swap 16 gear in one macro
* More auto translate

They should add a "wait for this JA/spell to complete before moving to the next macro line" command. e.g. <wait ja> and <wait ma> etc.

Nobody on these forums seem to want useability enhancements, because they take away from player "skill.'
They should add a "wait for this JA/spell to complete before moving to the next macro line" command. e.g. <wait ja> and <wait ma> etc. Already exists. /wait # <wait #>.
Oh, you want it to automatically decide the appropriate amount of time? BUT THAT WOULD REMOVE PLAYER SKILL!
[/sarcasm]
(it's actually a good idea. I'm just annoyed right now because I make a decent suggestion and all people can say is "you should be skilled enough not to need that" or "it's a waste of time.")

Takes away from player skill. Everyone should have TP% and MPP macros in /p, obviously.

Too easy to make a skillchain if you can see members TP. Game balance might be affected.

Because something like that totally should be a skill.
/sarcasm It's a poor interface design decision, along the same lines as not telling us what we have for half the stats in the game, which staff even once said the reason for the omission by the original devs was unclear.
The mathematicians that play this game might enjoy crunching the numbers and figuring out how the stats work, but it's not something that every average person should have to guess at, or rely on said mathematicians to find out.
Player skill should consist entirely of employing sound tactics and properly and precisely carrying out the actions needed to fulfill those tactics- not in battling the UI for information or its bad controls. Even MMOs that came before FFXI gave the player more information and feedback.
Now I'm not saying that the game should play itself for you or anything, but what final fantasy game other than FFXI doesn't tell you the MP/limit/TP/whatever of every character with you? Every modern RPG online and off gives you this information. Now in the case of FFXI alliances, I do believe they left out the MP bars because the resolution of the PS2 didn't allow for large enough party windows to display MP bars for everyone (note that the alliance party windows + target window + top status window completely cover the right side of the screen at the lowest resolution and ally party windows are smaller than the main party window)

Waste of Dev team time is the same argument you use to argue against many ideas that have no other drawbacks. Hopefully now you can see how annoying it is from the other side, and will refrain from posting it on future ideas.

Hopefully people such as yourself can also refrain from spiteful dissent at the same time.

I would greatly appreciate if the order of which my job abilities are organized, are saved when I'm changing between jobs and sub-jobs. Every time I swap a sub or my main, I have to take a minute to change the order, which becomes very tedious. I know I could make a macro for everything, but macros tend to not go off as efficiently as when I jump straight to my JA list. Anyone else know what I mean?

Seems like anything that gives players more information or improves the UI in any way "takes away from player skill."

Clearly, being able to effectively navigate and understand UIs is for noobs.
