How do you know it is for FF11 and not a different MMO? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just not seeing where it specifies that it's FF11.

Regardless, I can think of a few posters here that should apply.

They should hire me to come up with creative ideas for job classes!

"Experience playing FFXI or other MMOs" doesn't mean the new hire will be working on FFXI.

Except it's for FFXI, it says so in the ad.

I await your attempt to derail the next 100 or so posts.

They could have fired someone or had a guy quit, and so are trying to replace him. Doesn't necessarily mean they are hiring more ppl.

Their former battle planner quit because of the 1500 plate requirement for his 95 Empyrean. Stop the madness, says I.

Final Fantasy XI development team is "Vana'diel" to activate more diverse world, and new hiring. Be involved in the development of this games have experienced a long-term operation so far? What we are! If you have any spirit that has been submitted waiting for us.

Using the scripting language games, battle system is the task of creating content
Monster behavior and control, building a comprehensive system planning it, or composing a message, then our work will be designed to fit within the scope of the system a little game game key

Who knows why they are, though it would be nice if it were an addition rather than a replacement.

"If you have experience in program coding game development experience who has played the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI or others who do not allergic to numbers and calculations I caught things logically and objectively (any language) of have experience"

It said so on the FFXI official site front page, linking to the ad:

Note that is precisely the text I translated in the OP.

Pretty sure that they will want someone fluent in Japanese.

I don't intentionally derail threads, tyvm.

If it said so in the ad, then the OP could have made that more clear.

It said so in the title and you could have read the ad, but the multitude of posts you respond to without reading sort of compromises that whole premise.

I did read the title of the post. I treated it as the OP's assumption, not a fact. It would have been easier to visit the ad if the URL was an actual clickable URL.

Anyway, as others have said, it would most likely be replacing someone who left the company for whatever reason, and not additional staff.

Too bad you almost certainly have to be/speak Japanese

How do you know it is for FF11 and not a different MMO? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just not seeing where it specifies that it's FF11.SE announced at E3 that they had another MMO in development and a 4th along with it. Also that they had always panned at running several MMOs at once.
So the odds on FFXI are slim.

Maybe it is the spirit fixer they are hiring. He certainly does not exist yet.

Lol, they should first try to master running 2 at once before introducing a 3rd or 4th.

Lol, they should first try to master running 2 at once before introducing a 3rd or 4th.

They realised MMO subs are really good money, they forgot the MMO has to be good and it takes a lot of effort to keep those MMO players happy and continuing to pay subs though (no way in hell they can run more than 2). FFXI is kinda an anomaly to most MMOs in that for almost all of us this was our first MMO and that is why we are so loyal to it.

Still find it amazing they would take a successfull very profitable MMO and strip it's staff and budget to try and fix another broken game with very little intrest in it. Makes no business sense at all.

I'm sorry if my post wasn't clear, but there's a text on the front page of the FFXI official site, linking to that ad, that specifically says they're recruiting for FFXI:

"FFXI is currently hiring battle planners!"
And they mention wanting to make the world of Vana'diel even more diverse and active by hiring new staff.

There is no doubt, from reading that, that they are indeed hiring for FFXI.

And yes, the position seems to be in Tokyo and I doubt they'd want to hire non-JP speakers for a Japanese environment, though the ad doesn't specify so (then again, if you can't read the ad, why would you apply ^^).
Nonetheless, I thought people may be interested by this bit.

It likely has something to do with the apparent porting to the Vita.

I'm willing to bet that they import Krispy Kremes to japan to feed the devs at the office. So, despite your off-topic post, you're probably right.

We aren't making up speculations. They apparently are planning or at least considering to port it to the vita. I wasn't the one who made that up.

If they do end up porting it to the Vita I hope they at least backport the Vita client to Windows so that we can use OpenGL and finally dump DirectX 8.

And yes, it probably would improve performance. DirectX 8's fixed function pixel and vertex shaders were not as powerful and flexible as the PS2's vector units. They probably couldn't duplicate everything that the PS2's VUs were doing in hardware in DirectX 8 and some things probably had to be rewritten in software. (although FFXI apparently does use pixel and vertex shaders for some things) With programmable shaders in OpenGL this would no longer be a problem.
