You need to synth the kits early on in the mission line, but they're also Ex? Which means that every single person who wants to do these missions has to have Alchemy levelled to 10?
I know that getting to level 10 in any craft is easy, and as a level 100 alchemist this is not trouble for me, but seriously, forcing people to level a craft? I have a lot of patience for SE's shenanigan's but this is absolutely nuts.

And I realize getting alchemy to level 9 so you can synth this is not hard, but still.... it seems really absurd.

its definitely not 10...my mule has alch 0 and went 1/1 synthing it without imagery.

Alchemy 10 is very easy and very cheap to reach with dirt cheap materials, so there's nothing absurd about it. Even if you are a conscientious objector to crafting (or alchemy), you can still craft it at skill 0. You can get advanced support for +3 skill as well.
If you want an absurd recipe, try Chocolixir. It requires Royal Jelly, which is EX, so even if you have a friend to handle the 82 alchemy skill, that friend would still have to be in the zone to lot on the items rather then just collect the materials and give it to them. And you need a decent stash of those unstackable chocolixirs when attempting to get a legendary white chocobo... (or at least the ultimate not-white racing chocobo ...)

Completely off topic but.... there's a way to get a white chocobo!? How come no one told me this. Now I'm gonna be raising chocobo again. D:

And the last fight is impossible at level 1.
