•What you were doing when the issue occurred. I sent a message via the support site but figured this would actually get a response and others could also help confirm the issue this way as well.
Anyways I will post just about the same information I gave the GM and the feedback/comment I sent to SE directly.
We started fighting Cerberus and noticed that it was taking extremely low damage. We are talking 3-4 damage a hit from both a Thief and a Ninja. Critical hits were doing about 8-12 damage a piece. When we claimed the Notorious Monster he was idle and sitting @ 100% health. So as far as I know rage can have nothing to do with this. I was unable to confirm if he even rages from ffxiclopedia.
It took us a good hour to take about 1/5 of his health bar. At this point I decided it must be some kind of bug and made a GM call. The GM was very helpful and polite (Their name was Rahlk) but they were unable to do much to remedy the situation. I had asked if he could reset Cerberus but he could not do so until confirmed that it was in fact a bug and he would send a report of the situation to the Devs.
After the call we noticed that it was in fact Firesday so we thought that could be the problem. Though as far as I know Firesday usually only increases the dmg of fire-based attacks of a Notorious Monster not it's defense.
It was a long shot but we decided to wipe and then waited until Earthsday to start again to confirm if that was problem or not Unfortunately that was not the issue and even on Earthsday the damage was the same extremely low amount.
After that I sent the comment/feedback from the SE support site since I was not sure if he would include that it was firesday in the report and the Devs would write it off as that being the issue which it obviously is not.
A party member had confirmed to me that he had tried killing Cerberus a couple days prior and the damage was not this low. From what he said previously the damage was 3-4 times the damage we were currently doing.
It had already took roughly about an hour and a half of our time so we decided to teleport out and cal it a night.
I was eating Red Curry Buns and our RDM was putting Dia II and occasionally Dia III on Cerberus. Both showed little to no change in the damage Cerberus received. My base attack was 411 with the Red Curry Bun my attack is at 518. I'm sorry but I don't have as much info on the Ninja who was the other melee we had there.
I'm not sure if there is any other helpful information that I am able to provide but if you have any other questions just let me know.
Also I want to say how great it is that we now have these forums and the twitter account set up for FFXI. It is very nice to see more communication between the game makers and the players themselves. Others might say too little to late but as far as I am concerned this game is still running strong with a lot of great new content and helpful updates. Better late than never is the phrase I would use instead.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
