Long night after work. Thought I would give the people of XI a little idea of mine since... well I had nothing better to do. But here is my idea for a whole set of armour for RDM. Called "The Precisionist Set."

Subtilis Edge:
Damage 64 Delay 225
Level 99 RDM
Hidden Effect: When using a T2 Enspell activates elemental DOT of that same element upon successful hit. IE: Enthunder II > Shock.

Lapideus Shield
DEF 10 Enhances: Shield Mastery
Level 99 RDM
Hidden Effect: Upon successful block grants a temporary "Stoneskin" effect.

Precisionist's Chapeau
[Head] DEF ?? Enhances Phalanx Effect
MND+15 MP+?? HP+??
RDM 99

Precisionist's Coat
[Body] DEF?? Enhances Haste Effect
VIT+15 Improves Refresh Potency
Enhances Enfeebling Effect
RDM 99

Precisionist's Bracers
[Hands] DEF?? Enhances Temper Effect
Increases Enspell Damage
STR+15 MP?? HP??
RDM 99

Precisionist's Pants

(Obviously, while an enspell is active, this weapon gives nor gains any TP.)

That's a shield I'd want, the rest really would be macro pieces.

We touch on this idea a bit in my rdm melee gear thread (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/14893-What-would-you-want-out-of-rdm-melee-gear). There seem to be some dispute about it being broken and wouldn't work right. I thought it was an interesting idea tho.

It would be seriously broken for a job to feed absolutely no TP bar Magic and Weaponskills.

Enspell Damage +12 Augments "enspells"

Augment: Occasionally doubles Enspell damage and accuracy

Maybe if it was set up more like a oat weapon, where a % of the time it would activate and negate physical damage for en~spell damage instead. But knowing SE we'd end up with a store tp spell.

Isn't it as much broken when you can build TP using abilities, items or weaker mobs, then use it on a strong mob to avoid feeding it TP?

It would be more like a melee approach to slip damage... doesn't deal as much damage as normal melee, and forgoes weaponskills, but doesn't feed the mob TP while still being subjected to (heavy) aoe AND all too common magic resists...

Stoneskin effect equal to the Damage taken calculated before any -DMG gear /3

Precisionist's Chapeau
[Head] DEF: 40 HP +30 MP +50 DEX +6
INT +6 MND +6 Augments "Phalanx" effect
Enhancing Magic Skill +15
Set: Enhances "Composure" effect
Level RDM 99

Phalanx occassionaly absorbs damage received / 2

Precisionist's Tabard
[Body] DEF: 42 Accuracy +10 Magic Accuracy +10
"Magic Attack Bonus"+5 Attack +20 Enspell Damage +5
Set: Enhances "Composure" effect
Level RDM 99

Precisionist's Gloves
[Hands] DEF: 30 Augments "Temper" Effect
Enhances "Boost" spells "Magic Defense bonus" +9
STR+6 INT +6 DEX +6 MP +30 HP +30
Adds "Refresh" Effect
Set: Enhances "Composure" effect
Level RDM 99

Temper occassionally triple attacks (~5%)
Boost spells increase stat by an additional +5

Precisionist's Tights
[Legs] DEF: 50 "Cure Potency" +10 "Magic Attack Bonus" +8
Accuracy +5 Magic Accuracy +5 Attack +15 MND +6
Augments "Enfeebling Magic" effect
Enfeebling Magic Skill +15 Enhances "Fast Cast" effect
Set: Enhances "Composure" effect
Level RDM 99

Enfeebling magic occassionally doubles in potency but reduces duration. (I think that's a fair enough gimp)

Fast Cast: -10% casting time -5% recast time

Precisionist's Boots
[Feet] DEF: 24 DEX +4 INT +4 MND +4
Increases "Enhancing Magic" Duration
Enhances "Refresh" effect "Magical Convergence"
Set: Enhances "Composure" effect
Level RDM 99

Duration increase: 50%
Refresh increased by +2 for Refresh II and +1 for Refresh.

"Magical Convergence" Current active self-target buffs on RDM occasionally expand onto all party members.

Enhances "Composure" Effect
* Increases accuracy by 25
* Increases attack by 25
* Increases enspell damage by 5
* Grants 5% JA Haste
* Upgrades Dagger, Sword and Enhancing Magic Skill to A rank.
** Provides all WS for both weapons bar Swift Blade and Dancing Edge.

Now obviously I don't expect this to be implemented but hey, nice to dream.
