I'm not sure if its only me seeing this but this game is really going down hill. Main reasons is things like total lack of GM support, While running through town i noticed the normal a group of ppl fishing and out of all of them 5 were being kind to the environment and practicing catch and release so i felt the need to inform a GM that fishing bots where there for sport and i got the generic message back, please go to blah blah blah we don't care .com so nothing can be done about it.
To me this is starting to look all to familiar from years ago when there was more bot programs then players but the GM's don't do anything about nothing anymore. I've seen harvest/mining bots warping spot to spot with no care, players running at speeds the makes the flash look like he's using a walker and many others.
This is the single greatest MMORPG i have played but how can we compete with players with a bot army backing them up?
I'm not going to go into the issue of game balance cause to me thats minor compared to the return of the age of bots and lack of GM support to players and the game.

They have to fund FFXIV somehow.....
There are so many players blatantly breaking the ToS these days it would be on a level greater than Salvage Bans if they ever went through and did another wipe.

Did you actually bother to go to the URL they referred you to? I've submitted reports of fishbotters there and had the fishbotters vanish within the week. Stop being a lazy sack of potatoes.
Report to the STF. They are there so GMs don't have to police the servers anymore for cheaters. If you can take the time to call a GM, you can take the time to fill out a STF report. They're like the Vana'diel version of the FBI. Give them as much data as possible to speed their job up.
Every time I have called a GM for unrelated cheating/RMT issues they have responded. Learn to use the STF. They are the very reason RMT is crying in a corner like little girls now that they can't profit easily on someone else's creation. And I'm sure they have nabbed people who like you consider things going to hell in a hand basket and that they can get away with anything.
So in short, GMs are not going to waste their time on dumb things anymore, and they aren't going to bother with cheaters. This equates to job efficiency, not lack of care. Unless you count dumb things that people call GMs for, then sure, it's lack of care. Like calling them with the pretense of a serious problem, and instead you waste their time with some dumbass question that they are not fit to answer because it's not their job to know the game inside and out or what SE's meme in general is. Their job is to solve problems when they arise within FFXI, and now to be mods on these forums, I guess.

There isn't a 'lack of GM support." GMs do not handle STF reports. If you call them for this reason, they will simply tell you to report it to the STF.
Frankly though, I'm amazed you saw any fish bots or RMT at all. I haven't seen a single one in months, not since they removed free trial accounts.

I would be more inclined to report players to the STF but i have done so and several ppl have also for a single player and that player is still fishing to date. I reported them cause they were in PJ making trumpet rings to NPC them and they never buy 1 stack of trumpet shells off AH but they will be synthing for 4-5hours a day non stop. How can anyone get that many trumpet shells daily??
I just wish GM's cared like they use to and would jail ppl left right and center for offences instead of reporting to a website outside the game. Maybe if they added it to the game itself more ppl might use but doubt it would get any better. Even free games have better GM's then FFXI at the moment.
