Please make these Moogle Storage Slips a Key Item please!!!! It's so frustrating to have to trade every single AF/Relic/Emp etc. item one by one with a slip. It's so time consuming and a waste of inventory space.

I've responded to this a million times in a million threads so instead of writing it up for the million and first time again, I'll just quote one of those.

Porter Slips can't be key items because they utilize bitmaps to symbolize what gear you do and don't have. Your Storage Slip 10 is completely different from my Storage Slip 10. Key Items can only exist or not exist, they don't store item-specific data.

Example of how Porter Slips work:
All of the items in Storage Slip 10 are numbered from 0-100. Ravager's Head+2 may be #0, Ravager's Body+2 would be #1, etc etc down the line. These numbers are the same for all Storage Slip 10s. When the moogle originally gives you your Storage Slip 10, its item storage bitmap looks like this:

0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

100 0's, signifying that nothing is being stored in it. Now, say you trade all 5 Ravager's +2 pieces with your storage slip. Assuming that the Ravager's set is numbers 0-4, then your Storage Slip 10's bitmap changes to:

1111100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Assume then that the full Lancer's +2 set is numbers 29-34. Trading those in with your Storage Slip 10 changes the bitmap value to:

1111100000000000000000000000001111100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Now, suppose you trade your Storage Slip 10 to the Porter Moogle. The Porter Moogle looks at the bitmap of your Storage Slip and allows you to obtain any piece of armor whose bit value is set to "1" on the Slip. In this case, he'd offer you full Ravager's +2 and full Lancer's +2. Now, say you remove Lancer's Head+2, Ravager's Feet +2, and Lancer's Body +2. Your bitmap would change to the following:

1111000000000000000000000000000011100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

And you would have your 3 pieces of Af3+2 out.

Does this make sense? Porter Slips are items because they need this bitmap value in order to function. Key Items can't hold values. They're just there.

Edit: This is also how they were able to give people full Porter Slips on the test server. They just issued porter slips whose values were all set to 1's.

tl;dr, No. Can't happen.

Since every porter slip is numbered according to the type of armor as you mentioned, SE can still recode the slips to be KI and allow players to at the least store them in one-by-one, just like for event item NPCs.

Instead of the OP's suggestion (Since that seems impossible based on GG's post), it is possible to move Porter Moogles to the MH?

I don't mind the current locations of the Porter Moogles honestly. It doesn't lag out the zone you're in if you're trying to get items out of storage.

No, they can't because Key Items don't have attributes. They can only either exist or don't exist. Items can store attributes, which is where they store the bitmaps which determine what Armor pieces are being stored on the slip itself.

All Delkfutt Keys are identical, the game just checks to see if you have it or not, thus it can be a Key Item.

All Storage Slip X's are NOT identical, so the game may check to see if you have it, but that won't tell it anything about what armor you have actually stored on it. It could be empty, it could be full. All the game knows is that it exists.

The Event Storage NPCs don't use KIs at all. Actually, they seem to just store your item information server-side. This is a fairly inefficient way for them to store things though, which is probably why they didn't expand this to cover anything else - especially Storage Slip items which cover a positively massive range of equipment.

I'd like Moogles in the MH, though.

Being able to cram 100 items into a single storage slot is a waste of inventory space? You people are never @#$%ing happy are you?

The main gripe is that it's inconvenient for making on-the-fly gear acquisition. Why go to 1/X area of an entire town to pick up gear when you can have the moogle sit right next to your other moogle? It seems like the best alternative to a Gear v Other item inventory distinction.

The price you pay for clearing inventory space. Porter Moogles are a god send to those who still use parts of their AF and relic armor, especially for ones that play multiple jobs even. I like that it only takes 1 inventory space to store pretty much every loose piece of store'able equipment of that catagory.

Didn't stop them from having the battle trophy KIs for Dominion armor augments storing a byte value.

Key items are dealt server side, they can make it work.

I don't know if I'm misreading the bolded part, but you do realize you can fill the trade window with 7 items of the same category together with the corresponding slip, and trade it all in one go, right?

And waste of inventory space, what? I have 11 storage slips in my Mog Sack. Together they are easily holding around 100 different items/armour pieces. How on earth are those slips a waste of inventory space....???

This. 11 little slips or 100+ pieces of armor. Which would you rather have?

Also, people don't seem to get this. You can have 80 items in your Mog Safe. Another 80 in Storage (and there are a LOT of single pieces of furniture that add tons of items storage, making that trade-off exponentially beneficial), 80 in your Locker, and two any time item retrieval boxes that mimic your Inventory, which caps at 80 as well.

So that's 480 inventory slots on one character. With slips, most of that doesn't need to be toted around. With EX items able to go to mules, even THAT doesn't really matter.

SE lets you have 16 characters per account. If you're that deep in an inventory mess, I suppose you could spend an extra $15 a month for 7,200 more item spots, for a total of 7,680. On top of that, your Delivery Box can hold, what, another 80 items or something? What are you farming that takes up so much of your space?! So that leads me to pose this question...:

What more do you want?

I think the issue is that while the mog slips are great, they slow down the act of changing jobs even more. for jobs that i store more then just empy armor for example, i need to find which slips i need (usually the less played jobs so i cant memorize which slips they require) and then make a trip which is generally out of the way and begin trading + finding the armor. id say the difference between a job that only has emp armor stored and one that stores other stuff as well like af1/relic is at least 3-5min(depending how scattered in slips the armors are...tho take note that compared to others i seem to do this fast in my experience) and that is just at porter moogle.

Only things i can see to improving this system is simply allow your MH moogle to do the trading and if possible remove the dialog after every item you select, instead allow you to select every item and then confirm the selection. I feel the delay with the chat dialog after every item and the side trip to the added moogle are the best ways of improving the time wasted w/o overhauling much.

Sarcasm aside, I distinctly remember a Dev post about Moogles being called to the field for storage back when they announced what eventually became Porter Moogles. Was I just imagining this? Did this just become the Mog Sack? Or was this scrapped for the Porter Moogle idea?

Edit: I say Post, but this was before these forums existed.

This would help, yes. Or even keeping the Porter Moogle but allowing us to pick multiple items from one slip and then confirm.

Porter Moogle is still a godsend for people like me, with multiple jobs leveled and lots and lots of gear. If I had to send all that gear to a mule, it would cost me rl money since I'd have to make more mules, and it would be a LOT more cumbersome than trading a slip to the Porter Moogle.

Lv. 1 All Jobs <1/1 0:30/[1:00:00, 0:30]>Excellent! Just make it usable inside your Mog House like crystals are, and we're all set. (Incidentally, why are scrolls not usable? Why can't I learn new spells in the comfort of my own home?)

I'm reasonably happy with the Porter Moogle system, but I would like a few more rare/ex items storeable. Not every random thing that drops in Abyssea, but the stuff that fits into a discernible category would be good: the eight elemental sachets, the job-specific weapon set (Chimeric Fleuret, Acinaces, etc), the Ace's armor set, the Augur's Jaseran set, the Serpentes set, Twilight gear.

My Gripe with storage slips is simple one slip holds over 200 items and others hold like 50.

Add to these slips or add more slips for stuff like the:

Hydra gear from Dynamis Tavnazia
All the level 89 Job Specific Weapons
All the Skill+5 acc+12 Hachimaki's
All the fake relic weapons (latent with 13 Weaponskills to charge)
All 8 elemental sachet's
All the level 50 Bridget the midget gear (aka Gaudy harness ect)
All the elemental belts "increases weapon skill accuracy and damage" ones (flame belt, snow belt, breeze belt, ect..)
Maybe the rare/ex items you get from brown caskets (Gothic gauntlets, Gothic Sabatons, Custodes, ect)
Other random rare/ex abyssea gear this list could be huge (Ace's full set, Eradico Mitts, Schellenband, Crooner's Cithara, Apollo's Flute, Twilight dagger-scythe-cloak-mail-helm-belt, Augur's full set, Ballerines, ect)

That would be a good start, I have over 10 gearable 95 jobs without using a mule so yes I need space, most jobs after they are geared I am lucky if I have 78/80. If I gear BST im 80/80 and thats with filling my delivery box. More needs to be done about the inventory issue!

The one issue with the fake relic weapons though is that the charges would be reset every time you stored it. EDIT: The Hydra gear's enchantment charges would also be an issue, for the same reason. The storage slips only track whether a given piece is stored on it or not, not the state it's in. Of course you could argue, and I would agree, that it shouldn't have been charged to begin with, but that is a separate issue.

Some of those sets should be added to the high level store KI npc. Full emp armor sets should be added to the ki store too. Porter mog is good for storing incomplete sets but I still prefer the KI for complete sets.

Fake relic isn't an issue just make it reset it who cares its only 13 weaponskills.
And for the hydra gear make it work like the other storable gear with timers make it so when you take it out the item thinks you just used it so you have to wait 20 hours or whatever the timer is.
Not all the Hydra gear has timers on it either so would rather see some storable than none.
