View Full Version : Great Katana skillup locations 370~
As of late, I've been having difficulty recapping my Great Katana skill with the new Lv.95cap. Spending several hours inside of Abyssea and hardly managing any progress. Anyone else having the same issues or am I simply unlucky? >.<
Let it be known that I did this on monsters ranging from DC~IT too.

I think you're just unlucky, I managed to cap Dagger at a worm party on THF no problems (but that's due to low delay and dual wield). It's just the nature of 2 handed weapons with higher delay as I still haven't capped GA or GK yet.

Are you using your soboro? Or magian multihit weapon if you're crazy.

/DNC and fight Mandies in Abyssea-Altepa with Seigan and GH atma up. Didn't take me long to cap GK and spear that way.

I had some of the same trouble with H2H on my Monk. My suggestion is to sub DNC and whack the Duriumshell crabs in Vunkerl Inlet (regular Vunkerl, not Abyssea). I forget where they are exactly, but if you take the campaign warp in and travel counterclockwise, you'll find them pretty quickly. They're DC at level 95, and generally don't do a lot of damage so you can build plenty of TP for Curing Waltz.

I would also like to suggest food if you're having too much of an issue. I went to Tahrongi and fought the mandies to skill up parry when they checked as DC and now I'm 8ish away from cap.

Choose yourself a GoV location, spend an hour or so on the low level mobs getting your prowesses up, then go hell-for-leather on the high level mobs (DNC sub of course) with saltena food. Martial master mog tablet makes this even better. There are many zones with high enough mobs to choose from (some even go up to 99), so just pick your own location. Being able to use haste buff from book, haste samba 26% haste gear and if the mobs don't hit too hard/often, even hasso too, means lots of swings and fast skill ups. Add soboro to speed it up even more.

I did it. With Buffalos in abbysea, when a ally is there. VT and IT. Using soboro and The food increase combat skills, on about 90 mins i capped it there.
Crabs around melo melo spawn area /conflux #4 in grauberg. I capped mine there. Yes, it took very long time, soboro is very helpful. Also pick the atma properly. Apoc and Lion gives 25% triple attack rate, lion also gives 10% PDT. I usually /DNC for curing waltz, but Atma of the Mounted Champion also helps you to be in hasso stance most of the time.

Hoarmites are still good in Aby-Uleguerand. Skillups and a small profit at the same time is never bad.
