View Full Version : [dev1000] Dynamis - A short-sighted issue.

First off, let me say how much Dynamis has changed for the better in the last 2 patches. Adding the proc system to Dynamis, encouraging players to have more interaction with Dynamis, as well shortening the re-entry time to once per Earth day, has been a wonderful adaptation to a content that was tedious, repetitive and extremely disappointing drop-wise.

With the release of CoP Dynamis, I have been tackling it a lot since the update, finding out what changes were made. Again, all changes for the better, however I do have one concern that I believe was overlooked when these Dynamis adjustments were made...

Sagheera.

With the ability to enter Dynamis every day, and the ability to obtain copious amounts of loot, you left out the fundamental problem of upgrading all Relic NQ to Relic+1. Currently, I can do Dynamis every day, obtain on average 6-8 pieces of -1 (as a duo-group), but can only upgrade 1 item of AF once per week.

Are there any plans in the future to make Sagheera able to upgrade Relic gear over the course of 1 JP Midnight (similar to Salvage) or is that issue not on the cards at all?

The up-to-1 week wait time is more than a bit silly. +1

Agreed. Sagheera needs to employ the same people that Ghanraam does. Ghanraam's crew are much better value for money, and they do the work quicker.

Make it a game day wait and I'll possibly start chasing +1s in anticipation for +2s.

A week's not so bad since there's less then half a dozen that are any good. Whm legs, smn hands... I honestly can't think of anymore that aren't garbage.
I'll tell you this. Concidering SE of late, leaving the time limit was probably some crazy attempt to "keep people motivated." Much like the VW drop system. Now-a-days one of the hottest buzz words is storage and with dynamis so accessable now, who's going to hold onto all of the superfluous -1s while they wait? Innevitably leading to tossing the extras and thus having to return for them later. Hearsay granted, but plausible.

It doesn't matter if the armors aren't very good, it is still a very long wait time. The wait time will become an even greater issue when players will be required to upgrade their AF2's to AF2+1's before they can attain the AF2+2 version of the equipment.

There are also numerous players trying to upgrade in hopes that the AF2+2 will be decent.

I made a thread about this a few months ago. I don't think anyone took into consideration that upgrading every possible armor that Sagheera will accept - if done back to back (every week non-stop) - would take just under four years.

Plenty of time then to learn to use all those abyssea-leveled jobs! And to gather all the +1 upgrade items, ABCs, dyna currency and crafting items needed for all those pieces.

Farming upgrade materials and coins is extremely fast and easy, and doesn't limit the player at all; unless, of course, you are nearing the end of this journey and are having a bout of bad luck. Even with bad luck though, you should easily have had all 100 AF2-1 pieces drop for you in the 2 year time span. AF1+1 materials are more limited in nature, but a problem shouldn't arise unless you are upgrading 1 job at a time.

As for learning how to play a job: it isn't remotely relevant to the topic at hand.

+1 for the OP, I do have several relic pieces I want to upgrade and it's going to take months to finish them all. I can sort of understand the relic -1 pieces not being storable since they aren't armour pieces as such, but SE if you won't let us upgrade to a +1 more than once a week then please let us at least send the -1 pieces to a mule.

Since I started doing dynamis regularly last weekend, I'm already backlogged with AF2s I want to upgrade, and already have the -1, currancy and material for.

I agree with op, even though I don't play anymore *shrug*.

Has anyone else noticed, W/in Dynamis - Tavnazia /SAM Seigan+Third Eye, only gives you one Shadow... and yes for the 25 mobs I fought w/in the zone I was facing the mob.

Mobs that I fought was: Nightmare Leech, Nightmare Hornet, Nightmare Cluster, Nightmare Bugard. Saying which mobs cause some hit differently, For every mob though I only got one shadow using Seigan+Third Eye.

I've played in other Dynamis zones and this never happened.

I havn't tested SAM main but I will tonight, If anyone has SAM main and been in Dynamis - Tavnazia have you experience this problem?

Would be nice to do every Dynamis Zone w/in one earth day. Like how Avatar Primes are setup.

Sagheera doesn't outsource her work to underpaid Goblin children living off 1 bronzepiece a day.

Both of them could stand to learn from the Magian Moogle and his technological improvements in the augmentation of weapons and armor. Why pay wages at all when you just can just *poof* the upgrades onto the gear?

Yep, would love dev feedback on this topic.

yeah honestly, I would love it if the devs looked at removing most of these unnecessary time goblins. Nothing makes the game LESS fun than having to stop whatever mission line or quest line (or whatever) you are working towards to wait for earth time to pass. Could you remove this restriction AND every "JP midnight" restriction (especially in ToAU content)

Sorry it's taken so long to get a response to this for you all, but I wanted to let you know that the dev. team is looking into shortening the time it takes to complete a custom relic item. Once we come up with a definitive time table for when this will be implemented, we'll let you know.

Custom? I hope that means +1. Thanks for the response in any case.

The way it was worded makes me think that Relic +2 will be upgraded in the same way. If so I really hope it isn't one per day. That means it'll be 10 days per set if you have all the materials. But it's still better than the one per week now.

Washburn

Maybe he means upgraded relic armor, since relic -1 pieces drop like hotcakes now. A little more detail in the explanation would have been nice.

Bayohne
10-13-2011, 06:35 AM
Sorry if I was unclear, I was speaking directly to the original poster in that the one week wait time is a current hindrance to completing these upgraded relic-related items, and that is what is being adjusted.

Seriha

Good. At the very least, JP midnight would work. One per game day would be more ideal, though.

It's been over 2 months now and with the addition of the +2 relic and the Forgotten items any news yet?

It costs 30 forgottens to upgrade a +1 into a +2
It costs 50 forgottens to upgrade from a normal piece into a +2

Its still takes Sagheera a week to make 1 piece into +1, but it only takes 2~3 runs to get enough forgottens to upgrade said piece. I know some people are thinking just get the 50 and upgrade it that way, but when you have multi jobs you want to upgrade your talking about wasting almost enough to upgrade another +1 into a +2

We do not yet have a concrete timing set for this, but the development team is in fact still looking into this matter. Sorry for the inconvenience!

As long as it gets done...

Before long, players interested in doing this are going to have collected all the items they need for upgrades, and get to do nothing but sit around and wait for one upgrade to be completed before they can turn in the next one.

this has already happened after just the first week atleast to myself. get atleast 16 forgottens per run, It takes around 3-4 runs (for me) to get the 20k exp to upgrade a piece of relic +2 into the Final form. so you can completely finish a piece in 3-4 days, but it takes 7 days just to get a +2 made.

on a Side note, anyone get a Infinty Core since they updated Dynamis? maybe i just have really bad luck but I haven't seen one at all and I've been killing atleast 2-3 regular statues per run. Be ashame if the Strange Apparatus quest was now impossible to do.

With what kind of a group, or just you alone?
I took a few strolls with two others (basically just one doing the killing, a Ninja, with 2 mages to support), and have yet to see even a single thought. :S

For what it's worth, I haven't either, but I haven't done it very much at all... after all.

Duo, We only fight the higher lvl mobs, Dont need to focus on procs cause those dont help drops for Relic Armor or Forgottens. at the end I just hold all of them and we take turns upgrading. just stay in your camp and Kill for Exp and Forgottens.

so far my favorite is my Etoile Casaque +2, the Ehances "No Foot Rise" effect gives me +25 tp everytime I use the JA.

Oh, that is comforting as I actually want lots and lots of these Relic +2 pieces.
I do remember that we did move around timely for the weakness targeting purposes so that cost some time of course.

We didn't actually see any armour drops that time either (which I normally get several, even solo), so it was a bit weird all around.

One of us did have support job restricted, though.
Maybe that messed it up. xd
I haven't really looked into its effects yet, and not going to right now, but I don't think it should do anything like that?
From what the player said, it enables the 'White' weakness to be triggered but yeah, I have tried to stay away from the Dynamis part of the wikki(s) because there's so much to edit and I don't want to get caught into it!

Tile
01-18-2012, 06:40 PM
locking your subjob will let you get a White Proc, but its like 1% or less chance when you would get a flag, so you can go weeks without seeing a white, or get 2 in the same run. not worth it if your solo, only if your in a group and after money.

If you just want relic -1 and +2 items just bring a thf and kill the higher lvl mobs as fast as you can, dont bother with procs. the lower lvl mobs drop the +2 items also, but from what I've seen its a much lower rate.

Dragoy

Alright, so there's nothing I don't know about the white weakness then I guess.

Will be giving it a go soon again.
Thanks for the info, as I was really worried about them thoughts just being really rare.

lol when FFXIV 2.0 come out I'll be afraid of the future of FFXI.
All those restrictions will kill the game.
