View Full Version : Will Final Genkai Be Equally Epic?

With the next limit break quest being the new final cap one wonders if it will involve an equal challenge like the original Maat fights did. I would hope there will be something unique and interesting, not necessarily Maat fights version 2.0, but at least something on par. It would be disappointing if it only amounted to some more running around and awkward bowel movement allusions. Which is fine and well for the in between quests but 95+ should be something special.

I am still curious, what prompted SE to decide we all needed to lay an egg for our LBs?

You have not watched the anime "Puella Magi Madoka Magica", have you?
Go watch it TO THE END then you realize what actually happened to your character.

Wow, I got so lost in the huge poop joke that I didn't think about the Mahou Shoujo Madoka joke being carried so far. Unexpected. That, and I was disappointed that my character didn't eat it.
Given the way this one went, I assume the final limit break will involve our characters voiding their bowels with such intensity that the world is destroyed and recreated. That could reference the ending of about forty or fifty different Japanese cartoons.

Here's what I'd like to see:
The first phase can be whatever ridiculous amount of merits SE decides we should dump into this. Meh. Don't really care there. Just no item hunting. You talk to the Moogle, he calls over Mister Magian Moogle Man, the necessary merit points are extracted.
Now, for one HKC per attempt, you can obtain an entry pass to the fight. Unfortunately, the Magian Moogle heard something about "primeval brew", and it turns out that it interacted with the (whatever the hell he's siphoning your merit points off into) to form a horrible monster!
That horrible monster looks just like you. Weapon choice: whatever your highest weapon skill is. If it's one-handed, there's a chance that it's going to be dual-wielding those (very high for jobs with native dual wield, moderate for other jobs if using sword or dagger, low for clubs). If your highest weapon skill is a ranged weapon, it'll be using that and your highest melee weapon(s).
It has Brew stats - 9999 HP/MP, 999 everything else, Regain/Regen/Refresh, you name it. You, and the rest of your party (6-man fight), have three minutes from the time you engage it to defeat it or be kicked out and have to retry.
Yes, it's kind of stupid (I know, it seems like a rehash of the Maat fight), but there's at least more effort put into that than there have been into the last few limit breaks.
(Also, any sort of mention of the Great Moogle Mine of Xarcabard would be appreciated.)
