It's an interesting idea but, right now, it doesn't have much functionallity. Long casting time, high MP cost, low accuracy, it's Doom has a 60 second countdown and it can just plain wear off even if it does land. That's a lot of penalties for something that would have a very niche use already even if it had decent functionallity.
All NMs are immune to Doom so, why not let this spell be a little more effective?
Here's what I propose:
-Reduce the MP cost to 200~.
-Reduce the countdown from 60 to 30 seconds.
-Once landed on the opponent, modify it so it can't wear off on it's own. It can still be cured and so forth.
-Give this spell a sizeable accuracy bonus when used on a target that is asleep.
-Continue to make all NMs immune to Doom.
Making these adjustments will give this a use when dealing with large groups and crowd control, allowing it to be used on one of a number of slept monsters while you work on another. This will give it a function. A small one, mind you, but a function nonetheless. I don't think any of us expected Mortal Ray, nor did any of us ask for it, as far as I know. But, since you went out of your way to make it, please give us a reason or situation in which we would want to use it.
