Solo farmed 3 guku KIs in an hour last time. Much faster than chancing competition with bot users every 15min. Obviously your luck may vary regarding box contents.

First it would be make Guku force pop, then it would be Minhocao and the others force pop, then you'd realise you're too slow for the ??? as it would be overcamped so you'd need 3, so you'd ask for more ???.

I think that's what you're trying to ask (but not knowing it yet).

It wouldn't be as bad. Respawn on ??? is 1 minute. Respawn on NM is 10 or 15 (idr) minutes. It would be much quicker for everyone.
The problem is everyone camps Guku, then pops the other KIs whilst waiting for repop. Even when people are popping Sobek, if they've killed Sobek and Guku window is up those without KI will go try to claim again to make it quicker for next pop. If it was a popped NM then this wouldn't happen. Guku would be just like Lizard and Bugard: Basically no competition at all.

Although, I will state that at the same time they should make Amun, Heqet, Tunga and Lord Varney popped NMs.

Yeah, it is pretty dumb. I like how some NINs think they are badass with a Kannagi when it's one of the easiest Empyreans to make. No empyrean is really worth bragging over, though.

All of them are "easy" to make. Some are just more of a pain in the ass/more time consuming.

That being said, I don't like players who rip on others because those others have an "easier"-to-make empyrean. What if my favorite job was COR, so I chose empy gun? Does that make me a "noob" because I chose to do gun over something "harder"?

They should just remove everything from gold chests except heqet and all 3 sobek items, then people will be happy until the next level cap increase, when everyone will realize ninja is useless again unless you're doing abyssea because ninja fails on anything remotely difficult.

Depends on whether or not you parade your Armageddon around like it makes you the best thing since sliced bread. That's really the crux of what he was getting at. It's silly when people parade Empyreans around like they're super awesome for having them. It's worse when people bitch and moan because they think they're too "hard" to get.

Empyreans make a player average. Lacking them is subpar, touting them around is pompous. That's pretty much all there is to it.

Yeah, the GMs love ninja editing sigs. It wasn't untill they deleted mine for the third time that they decided to add a little statement there. Before it was just deleted. Funny thogh, first time they deleted the offensive bit, but fucked up the center tag, 2nd time they deleted everything including stuff that was fine, and 3rd time they managed to keep the center tags in perfect condition.

The moderation and GMs on these forums are really lolworthy. Unless nuking and deleting stuff without a single statement multiple times, without offering any means to contact the GM for an explanation is good moderation technique.

Always easy to get whatever item it is until you're looking for it! Then it never happens XD. This is true with a lot of things in XI, Always reminded me of Monster hunter items dropping. Items seemed to always drop until you needed them for a set .

Our group usually goes with 160 Azure, capped Pearl, and capped Amber for Fell Cleave KI hunting. KIs are usually pretty decent. If you're having trouble with Gukumatz, maybe you could try the gold chest route.

If you would make Guku force pop, would that mean you want the other NMs to be force pop as well? You could farm golden chests for the KI, but I think force popping Guku is faster if you're intending to do only Sobek. I think the amount of time needed to obtain a Kannagi Lv.85 would be greatly reduced if you could do it that way. It would be great for me if I could help out people doing Kannagi by killing Guku a few times in a short amount of time instead of doing hours of gold chest farming or camp Guku. But that would make an empyrean weapon take less time to make and you would see more Kannagi users over shorter time and it would make creating the -1 version even more of a waste of time.

But I don't really care for such things, if I was in control every NM would be force popped and have 3 ???s to avoid congestion.

You answered your own question there. It's not about difficulty, it's about increasing chances of getting your objective obtained quicker.

Some of us also farm multiple popsets so we can blow through them all in one go. Not everyone wants to do everything in bite-sized groups that take FOREVER to kill some of these NMs, holding things up for the rest of us.

Then people will bandwagon PLD again and they will all want almaces from the same group of mobs, jobs don't really matter in XI...just the current bandwagon. They nerf/boost jobs all the time, it's part of the game design.

Btw, Quiet time in most FFXI servers is around 6-10am PST.

I hate level cap increases sometimes for this very reason, that ALL exp zones get mass flooded even worse then they normally do. i'm probably not even going to bother untill it cools down.

It's not a joke. Empyreans are by no means exclusive, and since anyone has access to one that makes that the average. People who are below average are subpar. It's a pretty simple concept.

I'm sort of anti the whole "empyrean is average, no emprean is below average" thing. But that's basically stemmed from when I didn't have access to the game when a lot of abyssea shit was happening, returning and then having to play some SERIOUS catch up by myself as I'm 12hrs out of my LS's timezone (and they dont do abyssea anymroe anyway).

Basically, I don't like being called below average just because I got a late start and haven't got an emprean weapon yet. (Not that I'm not working on it, farmed 6 CC sets 2box so far today and will probably farm 2 more before I go to bed.)

If you're working on a Masamune, then yes, until it's finished your SAM is subpar. Is that unreasonable given the break that you took? Not really. Most people who come back from long breaks that introduced new content are subpar geared until they've finished catching up to everyone else. I don't think anyone's going to call you out on it aside from Pchan. But that doesn't make you as a player subpar. At least you're making legitimate progress on it instead of whining like a little bitch about how hard Emps are like some people. That's something to be commended.

On topic, we XPed on peists for like 6 hours last night. we called for help on Gukmatz almost every time he popped. Someone actually showed up trying to claim him about 4-5 times and we tried to let him whenever it wasn't raping someone in our group. Still, it would be nice if he was a popped nm.

Its an empyrean weapon, why not just ask for one in your drop box next time. I know im being sarcastic but I hate the easy button everyone's reaching for these days. Seriuosly i know its over camped but theres two simple soluitions:

1. only farm that zone when theres under 40 people there
2. farm gold chests on frogs, you can also get the nm frog while your there and spam the zone boss while your at it, two birds one stone

thousands have kanagi so you'll just have to grind like the rest of us, look at the bright side once its done its done

My sam probably wont go above 49. Until this post I had thought you meant the player was subpar because he doesn't have an empyrean for at least one job. Which I disagreed with. As far as the job is subpar until it has an empyrean, that obviously depends on the job. For example, I would call a Sam without Masamune as subpar as a 75 Sam without hagun back in the day. But that's because of how stupid easy the Cara>CC path is, and because of how weak a Sam is without it. Then look at Gaxe, Glavoid>Itza is much more anoying and time consuming to complete, and war is already a strong job without it. Then there's polearm. Chloris>Ulhua, another annoying path (Chloris is annoying, Ulhua is easy) and empyrean polearm is pretty much matched by OAT anyway.
That said, I'm pretty much doing the current empyrean for the sake of having an empyrean. It's not the one I want the most, but I figure get something under my belt before I start the long annooying road that is Glavoid>Itza.

10% because I like those two jobs
80% because it's easy to do, and I can do it solo.
