Spell: Impact

I got myself a twilight cloak just to find out Impact costs 666MP to cast and only does around 2000 damage. Why 666 WHY!

Bliz 5 does way above 2500.

I don't have it, but I have heard it is supposed to be roughly equivalent to a tier V spell (though of course, not if you have say, a magian staff +2 for the tier 5 and not for Impact :p). Probably it's 666 MP so people don't cast it outside of Abyssea, lol.

But hey, think about it this way. The TP you get from Occult Acumen is based on the MP spent on the spell! I think DRK gets 10% of the MP cost as TP; that's 66 TP! XD

I guess the reason they made this spell that way is because it can be used by various jobs and not just blm/rdm/sch. SMNs can use it too, so they have an edge in battles.

Impact also reduces all of the enemies' attributes (str/dex/etc) by 20% for a few minutes.

Yeah, it's main use it by jobs like smn who don't have anything else to use their mp on, or even do anything between BPs in smn's case. It's also nice for the -20% attributes, right before zerging something.

WHM have a strong attack, SMNs can deal damage without a weapon skill or avatar, and SCHs can make it a bit more reasonable in MP cost.
