I'm sorry if someone has posted about this before but i searched for it and all i found was about HNMs and blue spells and what not. Since this inquiry doesn't fall under either of those categories just thought i'd post it here. Now that Behemoth, and King Behemoth are force spawn NMs, Behemoth's Dominion is lacking in Behemoth's. I suppose the same could be said for Dragon's Aery, as well. While the argument could be made that there are in fact other mobs in those zones and the mobs could technically still be popped/fought in those zones, it seems kind of odd to me to have a zone called behemoth's dominion and there is no free-roaming behemoth's in it. There again the same for dragon's aery, there are no free-roaming dragons in it, let alone wyrms. I suppose it sounds like a silly thing to contemplate, but i'm on my 15th straight day of skilling up (i am capping all my sub weapons for all my jobs and their magic skills, it's taking a long time), so the contemplation of silly/random things is in high gear.

Anywho, to fix this conundrum, i would suggest putting a behemoth with a 1 hr (or whatever, as long as it's not 24 hours) respawn time in Behemoth's dominion, since i assume Behemoth's were not intended by any means to be a common mob. 1 Behemoth in Behemoth's Dominion wouldn't make them any more common and they wouldn't have any kind of drop other then say crystals, so no reason to really kill them, just to have a Behemoth where there is theoretically supposed to be one. The same goes for Dragon's Aery, only put in a Wyrm instead of a behemoth obviously, something the size of one of those ones in abyssea Tahrongi would work.

Just my thoughts, i know it's probably pretty silly and low on the priority list but would also make sense, since both the zones i mentioned serve really no other purpose then to spawn those mobs, especially in the case of dragon's aery, unless you want to kill a lot of flies, in a really small area.

Silly? Not at all! BCNM fights for Behemoth pop item?? Now that's silly!

What does going far west to a cliff to fight some BCNM that has nothing to do with the area in particular (Behemoth's Dominion) and getting a pop item most of us need for important quest and no one want's to help or you need knowledgeable people to help when they're not around. Damn SE, of all the creativity and/or lack there off, you really hit my sore spot.

Instead of a time-spawn HNM, if not equally difficult you made it near impossible to engage now (considering the new generation of players and Abysea content). Trying to persuade player/friends to go do a BCNM now is not fun and rises too many questions. I advise making the damn game fun for all, mobs and areas more accessible. Throw in some young Behemoths in there, some young dragon mobs and young tortoises to lot pop the damn HNM kings.

I for one am getting annoyed of the lack of challenge and ridiculous conditions for progression in FFxi these days. I say, focus it on the battles within that area and even if it's difficult, atleast as a player, im not force to waste time running around and persuading friends or even random player for help.

I totally agree

No argument here. They could even make a few spawns and call them Lesser Behemoths or Juvenile Behemoth or something, to reflect the fact that their loot wouldn't be nearly as good as their elders. As you suggested, merely crystals and a handful of other things. It's nice that they've taken steps to eliminate MPK'ing and kill-stealing by having more NMs and HNMs force spawned and locked to those whom made it appear, but at the same time it removes a bit of ambience from the world as well.

I'd welcome a few Behemoth and dragons in there respective zones, why cant they be level 105 mobs or 110, heck put them in a new GOV. I'll even accept a modest drop off them like 2k in gil or something.

2k in gil or something.

Unfortunatly this would probably have people killing them consistently to farm gil and that would make rmts and such resurge, so that probably wouldn't work.

Putting them on a GoV would not be impossible and i doubt would upset balance anymore then recent changes already have, it would just be another option after all like all the other GoV's as long as the mobs didn't drop the amount of gil as suggested before, that would cause a serious issue of overcamping for money.

They could be psudo-NMs(Chack as ItG.) like ruby quads and high-priests.

That would also work
