So, a month ago, I replied on a topic that has fallen into the previous pages and was probably ignored by the development team and such for whatever reason they saw fit. I am here to revive this discussion in another thread.

My previous post in said topic was this:

I hate to bump threads but this one needs it.

Ok SE. How about it? Everyone wants more macro lines. We plead for it. We need it. I, personally, have to push 3 macros just to do a single action due to the lack of lines in them. My gear swaps, as any one else that is properly gear, include every gear slot available. Each time I want to do Quick Draw -> Wildfire? I have to hit a total of 6 buttons. Do you guys think this is a little absurd?

There are currently 6 lines to the macros, as you are well aware. This needs to be increased to 12-16 lines. Yes, we do swap out that many items at any given time. I do 12 pieces of gear + 1 ammo piece in my sets. If you are worried about the macro window getting too big, slap on a scroll bar.

I'm not too big on how the coding and inner workings of the game are, in fact, I have no clue what you guys do there. That's why you get paid and I don't. That doesn't change the fact that we, the player base, want and need this change. We need more macro lines.

I do hope that someone, in a position to fix this, does read my post. It truly is essential that we get this change to the game. As stated in the quote, the true players of this game macro in a ridiculous amount of gear for each action we perform. We do not want to have to hit 6 buttons (example: alt+1/2/3) just to execute a single action.

I beg of the development team. I have played this game for over 7 years, struggling with this problem. Countless others have done so as well. Please, do not make us resort to Windower to fix this. As I just said, I have played for 7 years without using any 3rd party programs and would like to continue playing without them.

Please increase the amount of macro lines.

Increasing the number of characters per line, or adding more lines, would be nice, but I don't think the PS2 HD can handle it.

So it'll have to come from more smart use of existing resources.
The devs already addressed this somewhat, by adding the <wait> macro to the end of lines.
You can also use the /macro set or /macro book commands and CTRL/ALT-triple# to handle übergeared macros.

Some more line saving could be done, but I fear it might run into the character limit.
/equip Rings "Wisdom Ring" "Sanation Ring"

Which leaves sub-macros:
CTRL-1
/equip main "Teiwaz"
/equip sub "Curatio Grip"
/macro exec CTRL 2 //-> 6 gear swaps
/macro exec CTRL 3 //-> another 6 gear swaps

Note that sub macros should not be able to exec another set of macros, to avoid looping.

Yes it can, easily. Laziness is the only excuse they have. I did some calculations in this thread (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/686-What-Everybody-Wants-Shorter-Simpler-Macros?p=6183&viewfull=1#post6183) (which presents an amazing idea to handle gear swaps as well, but got audaciously ignored).

please add more macros lines, I hate to be out done by pc players using third party software that allows more macro lines. I have just 2 macros per set for each ws or other type of macros because i dont want to use three full macros just to get into my ws set or whatever and lose more dps because it takes so long to gear swap three macros.

Or just add a new macro command that will autoengage any other macro line so clickng, say, alt+1 does /ma "barfire" <me><wait3> then line two: /ma "baraero" <me><wait3> and so on, then the last line be /startmacro alt+2.

You could potentially set up auto skillups for those pesky magic skills while you sleep, or auto-shout for things while folding laundry etc.

Sorry for repeat, i didnt see kristals post. Looping would have its benefits, for sure.

im not asking to loop lines im asking for more lines, why do i need 2-3 macros per ws or idle set to maximize my attacks?
i already loop enough, on a dd job thats the difference between tping in ws gear and not tp gear because it takes an extra second to hit that extra macro, looped or not its not optimal.
