One thing I noticed while doing quests in abyssea is that there are certain npcs who will tell you about the state of the environment in abyssea, such as the water quality in vunkerl or the air quality in attowha. I wonder if there are any benefits for keeping those zones in better condition?

Sorry to necro this old post, but I had a little more stuff to add. Aside from the two npcs in the scars zones, the soil quality in miseroux, the snow build up in Ulegerand, and the wyvern attitude in grauberg are all variable, and I think they aren't just random. For the first two, just spamming the quest should accomplish the goal, especially since when I was spamming the avalanche quest it got to the point where it was rare to see anything other than light snowfall. For grauberg I'm thinking that turning in pursuer wings to Cornelia will influence the wyvern attitude reported in getting lucky. Not sure about the rest of the zones, but even if there's no way to check there might be something that effects it as even the visions zones have debug data in the .dats for modifiying the pollution level. Aside from adjusting miasma spawn rates, I"m not sure if there would be any effects to changing it but it might be worth a shot to find out. Any thoughts on what they might effect or what other quests might effect things?

I wonder if this has any effect on non-abyssea zones. (sort of like the pixies)

Hmm, don't think so abyssea is stated to be a completely different dimensions, whereas shadowreign was still connected in a way to the present.

A mod said somewhere in some where where a dudes was pissing and moaning about removing the miasma that it was down depending on what people were doing/had done. There's quite a nimber of thing that are effected by the current state of affairs. Such as feet drop rates influences by the martello posession of bastion.

That's actually what made me decide to try bringing this topic back up. I feel it's something worth looking into. Even benefits like making enemy mobs weaker or something else like that would help

It would be funny if you could set the air on fire in Attohwa and cause a giant explosion that 1-shot players over a couple grid squares on the map.
