Hi devs/forum users,
I noticed they giving BLMs Breakga o.O,
I'm just wondering if there are any solid plans to add the other GA enfeeble spells. I think it would be a fantastic addition for RDMs and I';m surprised more people havent requested it.
I figured i'd be the one to ask. These spells have been in the game a long time, and with the addition of Breakga, and RDM needing a buff, these spells could be pretty handy.
Also, although we did get JA elemental nukes, is there plans to add Blizziga IV, Firaga IV, Stonega IV, Waterga IV, Aeroga IV, Thundaga IV? We did get tier 5 elemental nukes and figured we'd advance in this area as well. Plus, they look really cool!
Any else agree?
I'd love to see more "unused" .dat spells being added to game.

The tier 4 "Ga" spells were replaced by the "ja" line of spells which are quite strong, so there is your awnser to that.
Binga, gravityga can all be done by SCH thanks to manifestation, altho not paralyga, but this isn't really all that useful, SMN has slowga only levi can do it. only thing not possible is paralyga but as i said, what would you actually use that on instead of just casting paralyze on one mob at a time?

lol that is an added effect of a damaging attack, i mean as the actual spell he is suggesting.

Actually, Thunderspark is just as potent, if not more potent, than Paralyze (and in some cases, Paralyze II, but that is up for debate).
But yeah, it is basically a Paralyze-ga with additional effect of thunder damage. Cause I don't see how doing 500-1k damage (depends on where you are) as doing much when SMNs have much more powerful BPs to use, except that Paralyze really procs and procs often on Thunderspark.

Ice Spikes is a good way of accomplishing this.
This comment is in no way suggesting that Red Mage should have or not have any form of any new spell.

again.......the spell "paralyga" mean an aoe instant paralze to all mobs Not attacks that give paralyze or self ehancement spells that inflict paralyze, there is a diffrence, i know it is hard to see, but yes they are different. i'm not sure where you even got the idea that i was talking about that.

Obligatory: You don't need try to grab dev attention with the topic title. The community team will review it all regardless of whether you put ATTTENTION DEVS in the topic title or not.
On topic: I don't see this as highly necessary due to the strategem Accession if you really need to AoE.
If AoE spells came out, they would be for WHM and BLM, not RDM. RDM has no dedicated AoE spells except for Diaga.

When has RDM ever natively gotten access to a -ga spell of any kind?
I concur that these spells aren't very useful. However, if you would like to suggest a faster recast time on the single spells I think that might be a bit interesting.

Or faster recast on BP:Wards and low level BP:Rages, would would allow a SMN to do the AOE debuffing. Not that I expect SE to want SMN to be useful in any situation.

Obligatory: Accession - Extends the effect of your next healing or enhancing white magic spell to party members in range. (MP and recast doubled blah blah blah)
Manifestation - Extends the effect of your next enfeebling black magic spell to targets within range.
Since Accession is only healing/enhancing, and Manifestation states only black magic, it's impossible to AoE Paralyze Slow Dia II (Not dia I since Diaga) Silence and Addle (if, you know, people did rdm/sch). SCH can only do...
Drainga
Aspirga
Bioga I/II
Breakga
Sleepga I/II
Graviga
Blindga
Bindga
Poisonga/ II
Dispelga
Stunga
And, since it's a dark magic spell, Klimaformga.
Fun Fact: Also works with Absorb spells, stealing ~7 of whatever Absorb-Attribute spell you used from each target. But who actually sch/drks? >.> DRK/SCH maybe in CB but yeah... Oh, but Absorb-Acc won't work since SCH can't get it as SCH/DRK, General rule is if SCH doesn't get it from SCH/subjob, it's not AoE-able.

You forgot the spikes spells. Ice Spikes, Blaze Spikes, and Shock Spikes can all be Manifested.

Can't* They're enhancing magic spells. Just like Warp. Unless they changed this recently...?

I got to correct a handful of people on the Scholar subforums about this about a week or two back. Many of them didn't believe me either, but you can test it out in the game right now to confirm, even if you can only sub Scholar for Blaze Spikes and cast from that. It isn't recent either, it has been like this at least since Scholar got the spikes spells natively.

Oh. snap. You can! Didn't think you could. Though it's a bit misleading with animation only showing on you when you cast it

True dispelga (the one which dispel all buffs) would be awesome, because manifestation is basically launching a spell on each mob around the primary target.

Although we don't have a true Dispelga, we do have something that is close.

I notice most of the time someone says "We'd like this for a mage" Summoners come out and say "we can alredy do that". Seems like Smns have a lot of things they can do. It invites the question: why do you keep complaining and asking for stuff?

Actually, the only thing I would like is a lower BP timer.
The ones who complain the loudest (Mala, Dallas) are the ones who don't know anything about SMN, most likely because they burned it to the current level and/or leveled it as a gimp WHM.

Because for some reason, no one wants us inspite of the things we have. SMN is a slave to the bp timer and makes its stuff more difficult to use than it should be.

I doubt Mellowy burned Summoner in any fashion, since she's been complaining about Summoner since roughly two weeks before FFXI was released in Japan.
If one-foot-high aliens landed in my back yard and began turning my garden into a new civilization where tiny purple men and zucchini-squash could live in harmony as equals, I'd search for a fresh Mellowy post complaining about Summoner to assure me that the world was still turning normally.
