View Full Version : Throwing "BLUE's" and other ranged blue magic options.

I have a pretty good throwing weapon in the "jinxed charkram/curse"...however have absolutely NO throwing skill, unless I sub ranger.
Isn't it time that SquareEnix address this, after all why give blue access to the chakram weapons? I'm not asking for an +A ranking. But a B or C would be fair, I think.
Now as far as blue magic spells that have a "ranged option" specifically physical spells...why give blue the job trait "rapid toss" or whatever when blue's don't have throwing skill, nor does this trait effect "ranged" blue spells?
I think SE needs to take a look at reworking "ranged blue spells" to be effect by "ranged job traits". Not only that, but also included more "ranged" blue spells with greater potencies.
If blue can adapt to many job styles... Such as blue healers, blue nukers, blue tanks, blue DD, etc... Why not give blue the options to go "blue rangers"?

I like how BLU gets to use ranged weapons, but has no throwing skill... And then PUP gets throwing skill, but can only use "All Jobs" ranged weapons and would never really use a ranged weapon since that means they lose animator for commanding the automaton...

Couldn't care less for throwing skill. Not like it's of any importance for Dancers.
Only thing I want from throwing weapon is low delay to claim NMs, and decent stat bonus'.

Why should any BLU care about ranged options? If I wanted to range, I would cannonball....

I suppose a new physical spell that can be casted from a distance wouldn't hurt, but I'll pass on the rest. Chakrams are fine as they are: pulling weapons.
And if I understand this right, you want ranged physical spells to be affected by racc? You want to carry more gear? I already keep several sets in my satchel, I'd really rather not compound my existing inventory issues.

I really only meant the casting/delay when rapid toss trait is used. Not necessarily RACC and RAtt. I figure if I'm main healing and/or main nuking and in "support position" throwing out occasional new "ranged spells" could be cool to have. I only want the option, not to rework the entire job into a blue ranger.

This stage in the game doubt this will happen. tbh i could care less about throwing skill, a good inexpensive ranged attack spell (like cannonball) would be nice.

Yeah I would like more of those too, but it's not very likely. SE seems to be sticking with the following thought on their Blue Mage design:
1. Must be a versatile hybrid.
2. Must not be able to perform too well as on the backlines like Red Mage.
3. Must not be able to do more in single damage nukes like Black Mage.
So we're pretty much left with our AoE, short range sells which in design are suppose to prevent us from being outclassed.
