View Full Version : «You have no Content ID for FINAL FANTASY XI.»

Details:
Ever since I experienced a game crash on Sept. 7th, 2011 at around 10:15 EST, I am unable to log in to FINAL FANTASY XI. Every time I try to log in, I receive a “FFXI-3001 (or any given number 0010 - 0011 - 3113 - etc) No response from server.” error about 3 minutes after I make an attempt. I have tried resetting my cable modem and router but that didn’t help.

For now on, when I press PLAY on the FFXI menu, i get the message «You have no Content ID for FINAL FANTASY XI. Please obtain a new Content ID or reactivate a cancelled one in order to play the game and/or to use the PlayOnline services.»


Steps:
Experienced a game crash while playing FINAL FANTASY XI.
Attempted to log back in immediately after the game crash by restarting the game.
Received the following error about 3 minutes after I attempted to log in.

No response from server.
Connection timed out.
Press OK to shut down.

Gave 3 tries but the result was the same.

After restarting both cable modem and router, made another attempt to log back in to the game, i get the message «You have no Content ID for FINAL FANTASY XI.
Please obtain a new Content ID or reactivate a cancelled one in order to play the game and/or to use the PlayOnline services.»

Date & Time: Sept. 7th, 2011 at around 11:20 EST
Frequency: For now on
Platform: PS2
Type of Internet Connection: CATV

My question is: Do I have to «reactivate» my Content ID or the problem will be solved by «itself». Reactivating something which wasn`t cancelled will lead to be double-charged at the end of the month (since I played for the entire 1st week of September) or not? And yes, i did make the transfert to ClickAndBuy mid-late August to be able to get that «free» ingame item. For my personal experience, a friend of mine did the transfert as well and cannot play the game anymore. Another friend of mine didn`t change to ClickAndBuy and he`s still enjoying FFXI. Could it be a mistake within the transfert? Hope to read news soon.

You'll be charged for reactivation, 1 dollar per character. It is now a 30 day cycle, so activating at the end of a month won't lead to double charging. Shouldn't anyway.

I just experienced the same problem, I got kicked on september 6th and have been attempting to log back in since (with no luck) and have just now gotten the message that I have no content ID's. I have checked my account through the SE account management system and everything seems to be fine. This is getting very frustrating.

EDIT: Within the day, i redo the ClickAndBuy registration and managed to get a confirmation via email that it worked correctly.

At 22:00 (EST) , i was still getting POL-0011 while trying to connect to PlayOnline.

At 0:00, i retry and managed to get inside the game (no warning about no Content ID missing). I was able to speak with people, search the AH and zone multiple times.

At 0:20, connection went down to 40% and went back up to 100%.

At 0:30, connection went down to 0% and got message «Error code: FFXI-4001». Game kicked me. Got message «Error code: FFXI-3100 Could not connect to lobby server.»

At 0:40, could managed to get back inside game, no warning about Content ID.

At 1:00, it was getting late and there wasn`t any intersting shout for me so I closed the game and wrote that thread. Hoping it will work tomorrow.

EDIT: Saturday morning, 8:00, I`m still able to log on without any trouble since Thursday. I guess all have been corrected within a short time. Hoping report it helps in any matter. End of the thread.
