im thinking maybe an ability that drains an extra 2mp per tick but doubles the avatars physical attacks and doesnt allow for any BP usage for 5 minutes

eh i dont think what would be worth it, overall dps would stay the same if not go down a little.

I'd rather be doing all those bps I could do in five minutes but it could be situational if it added like crit hit/ dmg or something as well.

Not worth using at all.

BPs generate a lot of spike damage, and with the set proc, can generate between 11k to 13k in spike damage.

Grab a sacrifice torque...it does this... At -3mp for I think +20 ATT?
Could also get yourself a pet staff I suppose?

A boost to avatar's melee swings would be great, but it still won't be worth losing Blood Pacts altogether for.

This is a horrid idea. Like KORPG said. You'd lose out on much more dmg.

increasing avatar's attack doesnt do very much for you to begin with. Definitely won't be worth losing out on 5 minutes of BPing.

As is, SMN doesnt need a JA that reduces the number of BPs you can do within a set time for some other benefit, but rather to increase the number of BPs within a short period of time - in other words to increase the total spike damage within burst speed intervals.

The emphasis on BPs is rather simple, because they are in fact our bread and butter and the single most useful tool in a SMNs arsenal. Limiting that not only takes away our usefulness but also what defines our job most.

Simpler solution:
Blood bond: increase perp by 2, avatar level by 1, once a minute for up to 5 levels. ends when unsummoned. Standard exp penalties apply.

If they add that, I will finally concede to nirvana.
