View Full Version : My Catch 22 with account transfer, and a question.

Catch 22 = no-win situation.

Because of major college expenses, my bank account is 9 cents short of being able to pay $13.95 for my bill. If I could deactivate one mule's content ID, I could make the bill. But we currently cannot deactivate characters if we haven't transferred our accounts. And crysta essentially increases the bill anyway because it can only be added in increments of $5. So my FFXI account is set to deactivate due to my 0 crysta in a couple hours (I didn't bother to transfer any, because I can't make $15).

So, 9 cents short and a currently disabled feature have condemned me. My question is, how hard will it be to reactivate? Any fancy, hellish hoops to jump through?

in theory, you should just be able to add crysta and re-activate content ID's--there shouldn't be a backlog payment due in your case. There were some issues with reactivation services on returning accounts that have been idle for a while, not sure if it would have any affect on a newly transferred/deactivated Crysta account though.

Guess you get to be one of the guinea pigs(sp?) for us?

That's comforting. I'm glad the 0 crysta is where the charge will be directed rather than my debit card, so I don't have to worry about any bank problems. The unsubscription process would make me uncomfortable too. So at least I'm avoiding both those unpleasant alternatives.

Go ahead and transfer. One of the pages will show you all characters, and you can choose which ones (or all) to keep activated. Any deactivated characters are still transfered, just deactivated until you decide to pay for them.
