View Full Version : POL-0011 error

Last night I had no problem logging on, but this morning (and its been continuing all day), after I log on, right before the screen with the play button, it pops up saying "Network is busy" so I thought it might be a problem for a couple people, asked people on my friends list, no problem for them, so I waited a few hours, checked back, same problem. I tried resetting my PC and internet, still didn't solve it ><

Edit: and for those people thinking "You need to transfer to get on" I did that a while ago so that's not the problem

Obysuca,

We can offer a few suggestions if you are experiencing any of the following:
• Have difficulty connecting to or staying connected to the PlayOnline Viewer or FINAL FANTASY XI
• Crash, receive a black screen error, or get stuck at the downloading data screen upon clicking your character handle or character select button
• See your the lag meter turn red
• Encounter increased lag or connection problems near crowed areas
• Have trouble accessing specific zone(s)
• Have trouble logging in with specific character(s)
• Receive any of these errors: 3113, 3100, 4001, 1160

Suggestions:
1. Check to make sure you have properly configured or turned off any of the following: Routers, Proxy Servers, NAT Servers, Internet Connection Sharing services.
2. If you are using any kind of software/hardware Internet Sharing service/device the following ports need INCOMING access to your PC: TCP 1024 - 65535, UDP 53, and 50000 - 65535. Also, check to make sure that the ports mentioned are not blocked by your ISP for INCOMING access. Proper configuration of any of the above items mentioned should be done by following the instructions in the software/hardware manual or calling the manufacturer's technical support.
3. If you are using a router, and have configured that router for port forwarding, temporarily bypass that router and connect directly to the modem.

Please take note of the following:
• Proxy servers, and satellite connections are not supported and do not work correctly with FINAL FANTASY XI.
• Your router may require that you use a PC to configure your network settings. For more information about how to configure your network settings, please refer to the instruction manual that came with your router or contact the manufacturer directly.
• If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) specifies a DNS server, you need to make sure to configure your settings to allow packets to pass through UDP Port 53 as well. For more information, please refer to the instruction manual for your router or the information provided by your ISP.

I'm having the same issue. Yesterday i lost connection and it took me about 15min to reconnect, then 2h later lost connection again and tried to connect for at least 1h w/o success. And now this morning I'm totally unable to connect. I get server is busy or no connection error. Anything else work perfectly fine with my Internet. I'm on Quetzalcoatl server.

Edit: with a lot of perseverance i succeed into getting to character select screen but it wont let me log with a character

Edit: It also does this on 360, not only PC

Same here, got kicked yesterday and now nothing, can't login anymore, only logged back yesterday for 5 sec. to get kicked again.

Also the same results as Alfinia when it come to force it to the character login screen, it freeze and disconnect.

I also doubt it's a ISP problem or anything like it, i never changed anything whatsoever, it just randomly started.

ok so I am going to post here so the problem get solved. It's multiple ppl from different servers and different countrys having the same problems at the same time since yesterday night.

It's not ISP
It's not internet providers.
It's not because our game fucked up out of no where.
It's not because we uses proxys.

Most of us never had any problems until yesterday night.
We just can't pass through PoL screens and character screens w/o getting 5 or more 0011 errors.
It litterally takes hours to connect to then get kicked back an hour or two after.

My friend did a research and one of your servers in Los Angeles is currently having problems, please fix it and stop taking us for retards.

Thank you,
A dedicaced player -Vaness-

Yeah! It can't be a coincidence. It's global, either something changed in windows 7 or something is wrong with FFXI servers.

I'm getting angry, fix it please!

I'm going to second what has been said here. I DC'd while standing in Port Jeuno last night at around 11 PM EST. I haven't been able to get back on since. I will get POL-0011 errors at random stages of the log in process.

This is not the fault of the players, SE, this is a problem with your servers. Please fix it. :)

I started having problems around the same time and I'm in Ireland. I've heard of other Irish players in the same boat.

Don't think it's Irish related because I'm in Canada(Quebec, East Coast). :o

Yeah, please to look at this problem, this is very VERY annoying, and so far i see nothing being done.

At least admit there's a problem and try to fix it?

I am going to post here in hopes that SE will at least admit there is a problem and they are fixing it. My husband and I both got booted last night at the same time (around 10pm CST). We were unable to get back in without receiving POL - 0011 multiple times. This morning, same thing. My husband called SE tech support. They told him it had to be the router, it had to be the ports, it had to be the ISP. In short, my husband called our ISP and the tech guy there used remote assistance to try out everything, made sure all our ports were open, etc. He (our ISP guy )said when he used his PC to try to download content from playonline, it was sluggish and hardly responsive. My husband hung up and called SE back, only to be told it is our ISP (at least 5 times). And we need to open ports or get a new router. My husband tried to argue, so the guy on the phone said he couldn't help us and he had to go. We pay for this game. We are the reason they even get a paycheck. SE at least admit there is a problem and you are fixing it....it's when you try and make us feel stupid or like we have to run out and buy new equipment to fix something that isn't our problem...that's when we get mad.

Both my wife and i play FFXI, and we started experiencing connectivity issues with POL as well as in game when we could actually get to the downloading data screen upon login. We recieve multiple 0011 errors, and it takes many attempts over 30 minutes or more to even log in to a character completely.
I called SE tech support this morning to be told to check router port settings as well as directly connecting to my modem to make sure the router wasn't an issue. I then called my ISP to double check on ports with them and we still had the same issues. I actually had the an ISP tech worker come to my home and work on the connectivity issue, and he said it wasn't the ISP OR my router/computer etc.
He then went to playonline website in an attempt to download the POL files from their vista or 7 compatability section, and he informed me that the download took 3 times longer than it normally should have. This tells me that there are server issues on SE side.
I call tech support back and was told that SE intentionally caps the download speeds to prevent severe congestion. First off, why would a cap be needed for a file that doesn't see an incredible amount of traffic compared to a version update? Then SE tech support tells me that it is my ISP that is the issue. I proceed to tell them that all bases have been covered on my end and he starts denying everything. I ask to speak with someone else in hopes of looking at the issue from a different angle. He said there was nobody else. Then he tells me "I have to get going". Really?! It's now standard practice to blow off a customer like that when it's obvious that there are no problems on the customers side of the connection?!
I called my ISP back and the tech support guy that i had been working with offered to call SE and talk to them about the issues. Waiting to hear back from him as of right now.

Now i find that i'm not the only one having the issue, but i'm one of many having this issue. SE, stop denying fault and own up to your problems. Your customers shouldn't have to suffer from lack of communication on your end.

They probably realized there is actually an issue and are working on a resolution. At least i hope they are. If not, i'm very disappointed.

Just got off the phone again with SE tech support. "It's not us, it has to be your ISP" (even though i've already double checked it and it's not my ISP)

I explained that it's not my ISP and then they said it must be further down the line. Well in that case how do i contact this "further down the line" to explain that there is a connection problem?

WTH SE, why are we even paying you? To hear you tell us that the problem is on our side when we know perfectly well that people all over the world are experiencing this situation, when everything was fine the day before, and we didn't change anything at all?

Even your website and forums are slow as hell, at least be honest enough to admit that there might be something on your side and do what you can to solve it ASAP, in respect of the people who are giving their money to you!

Was having the same trouble until I get tired and reset router/modem. For now on, I'm having the message when i hit PLAY on FFXI menu: «You have no Content ID for FINAL FANTASY XI. Please obtain a new Content ID or reactivate a cancelled one in order to play the game and/or to use the PlayOnline services.». I made a new post about that problem. In my opinion, it must be a trouble with the new payment thing, as my friend who made the transfert can`t play anymore and my friend who didn`t still enjoying the game. It`s just my two cents.

Just chiming in to say I'm having the same issue as most everyone else. I'm a Videotron subscriber playing from Quebec.

I was disconnected from the game server last night and been having an incredibly hard time reconnecting ever since. When I do manage to get in game my searches often fail and zoning usually results in a disconnection.

Celeana

I also have the same problem since yesterday, and i use videotron from Montreal Quebec Canada.

It looks like i'm not the only one with this problem. And i'm not even surprised that SE is doing absolutely nothing to help, and when it's obvious it is a problem from SE, they don't even acknowledge it and they use their usual crappy excuses.

This isn't gonna end well

Well, based on what I've seen, there some people from canada and Irish that can't connect or get weird disconnection. Maybe it's truly not SE's fault, maybe there's a broken pipe along the way to their servers...

But, even if it's that, indeed SE should let us know what the hell is going on!

My thoughts is, SE is trying to kill their own game. Well, maybe it's a little bit too exagerated, but i don't see them doing anything to help.. they rather resort to pathetic excuses that it is our fault and not theirs...when it's clearly obvious it's a problem on their side.

The thing is they've been acting like that since the very beginning. Nice thought but they just are very noneffective at communicating anything.

I live in Minnesota. I can eventually log in, but I cannot zone or I get disconnected. Two of my characters are now stuck in zoning limbo. I can play just fine if I stay in one zone but I cannot use search at all. It very sporadically works. This is really irritating...I finally had a day off to play and I get this crap.

To any of the Administrators on this site,

Last night at varying times a mass amount of us were booted from the game with no rime or reason, and since then have had varying difficulties when attempting to get on. Last night after gettin booted i couldnt make it to the play screen with the content id's etc today i make it past those only to get locked up with cannot connect to lobby. My isp has not changed i have tried with and without my router! So attempts to tell me its on my end our unnecessary. Their seems to be a problem on your end! I would call u but i cant even get ur support page from your main site to come up. I have been a loyal customer for many many years now, and have always been dissapointed by your lack of customer service, but unfortunately i enjoy your game. Please stop doing what you normally do when there is a problem and ignore us, at least respond to all of our concerns!

At around 11pm eastern, on September 6th 2011, I was also disconnected on both X360 and PC. Me too, I live in the Montreal area, using Videotron ISP. Now don't get me wrong. I have changed nothing, and everything else beside FF XI works perfect. I searched the web for answer / solutions but couldn't find any. I found someone trying to trace the problem with tracert (trace route dos command) to lobby server, I used 124.150.154.122 (someone pointed out it was the proper ip adress). I do get a time-out at some point between Montreal and Asia. All the ISP could do is acknowledge that there were indeed time out at this point, but since everything else is working fine, and since they have done nothing on their end, they are not going to investigate further. They are positive that the problem is not on their side.

I was able at some point to play for a bit, but today when I finally make it to login (after 50+ attemps) I never actually log coz it stays in downloading info forever and finally times out. Tonight, I can't even connect on 360, and to make sure it was working, i've downloaded random games, 2GB of it.

The problem might not be from SE directly, but sadly there's nothing we can do. Hope it get solved quickly.

I was beginning to think it was just me, I also experienced the same problem (and I also live in the montreal area.) I have been attempting to connect and when I actually manage to get to the character select screen I can log in to only 2 characters of the 5 I have. I have verified that this is not a problem on my end nor with my ISP.

I was able to logon and play as well for about 3h, then DC for no apparent reason. I was also unable to access this website, but every other were fine. However, on X360 I was able to log for 3 mins then it was disconnecting me with time out every time. Please do something about it.

That is maintenance for click and buy and only if ya trying to 1 or more of the following at click and buy and logging tinto the game:
Purchase Square Enix Crysta using ClickandBuy
- Purchase Security Tokens using ClickandBuy
- Register ClickandBuy as their payment method
- Update their ClickandBuy account information

doesn't say anything about probs logging into PoL or FF XI

It's still odd that maintenance occured at almost the same time everyone was having problems, and I never said it was anything to do with payment options or transferring, just that it might have been a cause. Again, good luck with getting a response in this forum, it never happens.

It seems as though the issue has been resolved and that there were server problems here in LA.
