View Full Version : Dynamis Usury
Put and end to dynamis usury by making currency like assault points. Everyone who does equal work gets equal pay.
Put an end to using other people to get your relic.

Which basically ends many players' running of the Dynamis shells.

Or like campaign, where your exp depends on how well you did, so how much you contributed to defeating the mobs. So dynamis currency could go like how ever much you contributed to killing the monsters that were fought or healing you'll get paid. But of course there's gotta be tweaks to how it works; cuz of stuff like how fast the mobs go down :P at the end of dynamis when ppl timeout is when we're paid

dynamis is going to give exp and such. I am starting to think they would be upping the levels of the mobs

So speaks someone who has never led a Dynamis linkshell of 30-40 members who do nothing but whine, complain, and show up believing they are somehow utterly vital.

No one can force you to do dynamis. If you feel you are being used you should probably not do dynamis with those people. This thread is pointless til we see how dynamis is after the update anyway.

If thats what you want in your dynamis join one that does that already. Dont make it that way for everyone. Choice is such a wonderful thing!!

I liked the way dynamis was before. Some ppl can't contribute other ways so doing dynamis was an easy 5 points cause they could just afk every 10-15 minutes and noone would really notice. Making the mobs give exp is an awesome way for me to level my jobs while doing it now, guess there is a plus side to everything. :)))

I'd have to dissagree with the OP. Currency should be sellable/tradable still. The zones will be "open" soon now anyway.

Really don't want any more of SE's completely broken experience point calculation systems. Causes enough drama in Walk of Echoes.
Unless you want the whole zone filled with dancers.

Anyone can get a relic. Just grind out gil and buy currency with it.
I got my relic by gardening, fishing and cooking for 4 years. I wanted a relic so I found a path to achieve that goal. If you won't put your nose to the grindstone to obtain the currency then you don't deserve to own a relic. If you want one then find a way make it happen rather then wallowing Gollum-like in jealousy while hoping for SE to give you one for minimal effort.

Now say that again in Gollum's voice to get the full effect.
Most people I know who have relics got them legitimately. And believe it or not it's possible to get a lot of gil without botting or cheating. Making a lot of gil isn't hard, you just have to find something that works and keep doing it.

Word. I actually began the process of trying to farm significant gil through Abyssea pops and the like. The big question, of course, is if the people you are buying the 100's from are legal or not, because, again, the RMT PWNER v. 1.337...

I love whiners, they have no understanding of things its just adorable. First off I would like to say that I ran a dynamis shell to fund my own relic weapon with a really good friend of mine, six months later he got the shell to completely destroy itself with too much drama. Now that being said I want ppl to understand something, getting a large group of ppl together is hard work, why? because ppl are ignorant, you have to teach them what to do so that they can accomplish something. This is fundamental of any occurance in life, and thus it has its place in dynamis as well, ppl also are greedy, for instance I pay 1m gil a week in timeless hourglass fees and go thru all the trouble of tryin to command 20-40 ppl and at the same time make sure that zones I do are ones that have relic gear that ppl want so that they are happy enough to help me fulfill my dream, and you also want the currency that drops? Really? Perhaps you are just being to greedy and need to understand that yes their are some jerks out there that run dyna shells, guess what jerks love power and money so dyna shells will always attract the jerks, but that doesn;t mean its completely unfair. Now if you want to institute a new form of obtaining dynamis currency so that ppl who are dedicated hard working players to obtain relic weapons without the hassle of large dyna shells, then believe me I TOO WANT THAT. To finish my Amanomurakumo and to complete Ragnorok are dreams of mine that I would love to see fulfilled and I would love to see good hardworking decent players holding relics, instead of the usually jerks who run the shells, but by all means plz stop being greedy and forcing wrong change in systems and start dumping jerk leaders for being jerks and start shells on your own, then perhaps you'll understand how much harder it is to accomplish dreams and be fair to the ppl that help.

I just dont see the problem. If you dont want to have the LS leader take the currency then join a LS that shares it. Problem with that is that then you have to pay out the entrance fees although with the new changes that might not be an issue anymore.
There are LS's that share everything that drops. My son in law is leader on one that does. I think that LS does dynamis more as a method of earning gil anymore.
So if you can chose a LS that lets you do what you already want to do then why force everyone to the same mold? That does not make any sense.

Some people have an issue with how brusque the leader of the Dyna shell I do Sunday runs with is.
But he has one of the fairest systems out there. Split the 500K for all attending, singles freedrop til the last 10 minutes (then lotted to ensure they get distributed before expulsion from the zone).
Any person who has had at least one run with the shell can reserve AF2 -- any competition goes point-based.
100's in cities can be bid on for points. One 100 per run to a customer (bid on or lotted).
Any AF2 not reserved is Free Lot (level), where anyone can lot on it (including new players) if that job is at or above the level -- sometimes people will ask to be sure, and occasionally some quiet persuasion to share and share alike is made.
But this "you're all working to finance MY relic" baloney is just that -- baloney!!

It's all opinion. If people don't like the way a shell is run then they can quit. Some people don't mind entering for free, collecting af, and helping someone get a relic. That's what I did for 4 years before I got the chance to sponsor and even if I didn't I wouldn't be bitter because I could have left whenever I wanted.
I support OP's idea. If you didn't need the person you wouldn't have invited them, thus they wouldn't have received any Assault Points. And since the item can only be obtained via points exchangeable through an NPC, it does not impede another's progress in obtaining it.

I'd argue that they deserve it due to their years of participation in an event that takes 4ish hours long and can't get any relic because they're not part of the "inner circle" in their shell.

Sounds fair to me. But this is the exception not the norm. However i have noticed more shells, including the one I'm in, use a payout system since the gear isn't as attractive as it used to be. The days of...just came out for relic gear is dying a well deserved death.

You mean they can't get a relic because they don't have the determination to make it happen.

Because they might want gear and are welcome to come lot on it if they want.
No one has to go to Dynamis if they don't want to go.

It's very silly to assume that there are shadowy cliques out there getting all the gear for themselves while using the hard work of the naive proletariat.
If someone wants to work on a relic they can put together a Dynamis shell by recruiting people, planning a time to go, researching how to run Dynamis, coming up with a set of rules for lotting, figure out how to fund the runs, and actually lead the runs.
Showing up twice a week for a couple of years, joining a party when invited, getting an hourglass, trading the hourglass to the mark, and engaging mobs mindlessly for 2-3 hours does not give anyone the right to feel they deserve to obtain a relic.
If you want one, figure it out, plan it, and work for it. If you're unwilling to do that, continue to show up or don't. It's your choice.

Bottom line is that without those so called "useless" people you wouldn't have your relic. I'd think you'd be a little more appreciative but you probably think you did it all yourself. And if everyone who wanted a relic tried to put together a shell, they're be too many shells and not enough members...unrealistic, especially late in the game.

No, the bottom line is that the "useless people" (and I am sure I never stated it that way) are welcome to come and get AF2 if they want to, but they are not required to attend.
If they really wanted a relic they would figure it out.
And you should know, I led a Dynamis linkshell for several years and did not work on a relic myself. I know first hand how useless some people can be when they show up thinking they're vital but mostly get in the way and do nothing but complain about not getting a relic themselves.

Before Abyssea relics were the most egalitarian "elite" items to obtain as it it wasn't a matter of knowing the right people or being in the right shell as it was with kings gear. You could either run an LS, or if you didn't want to go that route grind out gil through crafting and fishing or whatever and buy all the currency + merc the fragment and attestations.
Sure it took years but it could be done by anyone, unlike items like the Adaberk or Ridill that were outright impossible to obtain for anyone not in the right clique.
