I tried to transfer my POL account to SE account just now, and the overview i got right before I was asked to confirm it all showed that I would be paying an additional 84 dollars a year after transferring my account, compared to what I had been paying before.
I bought this game at the EU release date and have always paid using my debit visa card, and paid in US dollars. It seems like this is no longer an option and the subscription fee for me is therefore increased by a substantial amount.
Needless to say, I cancelled my account transfer and plan on waiting this out to see if it gets better.

You had to have had something messed up... The new format is by crysta and a standard month is 1295 crysta (or $12.95 US) plus 100 crysta ($1 US) for each add. character... not sure where $84 more a year would come from.

In the past EU payed $12.95 US. The US dollar is at an extreme low value so EU were actually paying "cheaper" for the game than Americans were. Now it charges you 12.95 in w/e currency your country is in. Which means EU are paying more than they used to.
I think this is what the OP is referring to. I dunno if they will change that though.

That is what I was referring to in my original post, yes. I was sort of making a joke, but not really. :(.
Also, yes, it is pretty low now, but it has been significantly lower than EUR ever since the game was released in europe. Even if we were using 2004 exchange rates, the subscription fee would increase by 20-25%.
I will probably end up cancelling a few of my mules, but even after doing that I would be looking at a higher monthly fee than before.

It sucks to have a price raise, but to be honest they probably should have done that in the first place as both the US and JP are charged in their own currency. This change kinda makes all countries "even".

They probably should have, yes. But as far as I remember, we actually got a choice between paying in USD or EUR when we started playing. Also, EUR isn't really "my own currency", not all of countries in Europe is part of the Euro zone :>. And thank RandomDeity for that.
