Disaster of creating an account

Alright, I go to put my game item code in - I sign into playonline - Select Final Fantasy XI - and go down to Optional services, in this menu I selected Reward Code Registration.

BUT, when I do that, I get a box saying - No PlayOnline or Final Fantasy operations can be performed from the Playonline Viewer.

After logging into Square Enix Account Management System, please select a service account and then perform the necessary procedures.

So? Any idea where this might be?

Rant: Why did SE change to this whole new system. I know the old system didn't work very well, but at least you could eventually get things working.

Have to link/transfer your POL account to the SE ID, then all content ID management, etc. is done through the SE web based system. Kinda confusing when all the documentation with the game points to POL...but once you get into the SEAM system, it is <supposed> to be more streamlined I guess.

Already all setup, I have no idea how to do it through site. Can't find anywhere to put that in. In fact, SE directions are use playonline to do it.

i have yet to do the second part (have no need to since i dont need to fiddle with reg codes or anything atm) but after that there should be a section to input reg codes but if you are already at this step (im uncertain as to whether or not you are) then ignore me lol

Yes Alpheus, that is already accomplished. There is no place to put codes in on the SE site.

dug this up from another thread hope it helps:


On the SE account page, choose the "Select Service" button near bottom on the left. Choose "FFXI" then "Add a service accout" button. Boxes for your code will show up, enter the code then it should give the option of which account you want to apply the code to.
