I posted this thread to see what ppl would think if they gave us dancer our power of old. My focus is the abilities we had in Final Fantasy tactics. All of those abilities were extremely useful and I really believe can be implemented using the Finishing Move system. Here are my thoughts.

Lvl 92- Slow Dance- Lower the enemy's attack speed by 3% per Finishing move expended

Lvl 95 Polka Polka- Lowers the enemy's attack power by 3% per finishing move expended

Lvl 97 Disillusion- Lowers the enem's Magic attack by 3% per finishing move expended

Lvl 99 Nameless Dance- inflict a random status effect on the enemy equal to the number of finishing moves expended( paralyze, silence, blind, poison, bio, dia, slow,and addle)

These I see as all being very realistic option and would not only boost our solo prowess but also be a great asset in party settings as well. Later I would also like to see a way of reducing enemy acc as well as a dispel ability to give us a more defensive skill line.

In addition to what I have mention above I was inspired by the lilith fight with her dark thorns ability and thought that it would make a rather nice merit ability for 99. Except give it the ability to add a reverse effect to our dances such as quickstep also lowering acc in addition to lowering eva, box step also lowering atk in addition to def., Haste Samba adding a slow effect that stacks with the slow spell and elegies, Drain Samba actually draining the hp of the mob ect. These abilities would then be stackable with the abilities above further enhancing the potencies. Post what you guys/gals think and make some suggestions too. Maybe SE will see this and give us a boost like this on our beloved dancers ^.~.

I personally love the idea of defensive debuffs (although I've envisioned them added as steps), however Byrth has pointed out on several occasions (and is right to so) that they've given us no defensive debuffs in 90 levels....

And I dont understand why that is since we are suppose to shine in soloing as well as party assistance. Dancer has always been a potent and very debilitating job. Our lack of defensive debuffs really limits what we can do. Thats not balancing thats gimping.

FFT is the best game ever made. (I have seriously played through this game 10 times and am currently playing through WOTL version >_<).

That being said, alot of skills for DNC in this game opposed to DNC in FFT are kinda juxtaposed due to the fact that FFXI DNC are somewhat healers and debuffers. DNC in FFT are straight offensive/debuff. Nevertheless, those finishing move ideas are awesome.
