I think im posting for quite alot of us when i say: Please SE, please give them weapons unique names.
When you have 2 staves of each element like me it becomes a nuisance every time you switch jobs you have to sort staves out because a macro will use the wrong staff if you have both in inventory.
Since every weapon has the same issue i think this issue should be solved very soon.
This only adresses staves, but how about naming the perpetuation staves after their avatar ( e.g. Garuda's staff) while MAB staves get a cool name like Thundersourge. Something along those lines.
Thank you very much for considering in advance

Or how about don't get the perpetuation staves because they're not needed if you're keeping up with the rest of your gear.
The macro issue does need to be addressed, in all seriousness.

What other piece of gear gives -6 perp and -10 delay for SMN? They are awesome pieces of gear, asking people to not do them is just stupid.
I don't see why there is a problem with the SMN version staffs and the affinity+ ones since they're pretty useless if you're on smn or not, so just satchel/sack the other and keep the one you need in your inventory.
I think what we really need is a way to choose specific augmented items via macros, since it can get troublesome if you get, let's say, different dark rings with different attributes that are worth keeping.

Is it really so much hassle to move your Smn TotM staves into Mog Sack when on the other mage, and the affinity staves into sack when on Smn? On red mage I dont even have the extra inv space in gobbiebag for my rdm gear, let alone another job's.

I agree that there should be a way to select specific augmented gear that have the same name as other gear, through the use of macros.

Any time different paths share the same name, ideally said weapons should become a different name. One can't have a 2-4x Khanda +2 and DA+10% Khanda +2 for this reason. Different swords, different effects, different damage. Basically, you either have to settle for remaining one step behind for one, or throw away the one you might not use as often if it was the first you'd +2'd.

This should be within capabilities, tbh. I don't think they'll be named in quite the manner suggested, as the staves each have different traits. However, it would be nice to be able to switch automatically between various staves. I would say there is indeed a need for this, especially since there's a fair amount of work into completing them.

What other piece of gear gives -6 perp and -10 delay for SMN?No one piece does; but a lot if not all of the gear you're already going to be using anyway has all the perp- and refresh you need. You can idle with avatars out and a zero perp weapon and if you have all your +2 and other items. There are some extremely useful staves that have no perp- on them, such as soulscourge. If you don't need all of the perp- available to you, then the weapon slot is one of the best places to give up that unneeded perp for something else.
You don't need the staves to get maximum BP delay either. Many SMN already had the maximum amount before these staves even came out.

Same reply goes for Mr Noodles. Anything and everything a person brings up in a post is subject to comments from whoever reads it. So with all the respect, lighten up. I get advice all the time without asking for it, but I don't complain about it, in fact I often actually engage with the offering person on it. Be thankful, not resentful, when people do this.

Oh i got an idea, what if we could identify the different weapons in macros by using the number of the trial that created them, or using the item ID directly in the macros. That would probably be the easiest way to do it, rather than to come up with a separate name for each weapon,

I sincerely wish you were a happier person. You should probably take a break for a few weeks, you come across like you might have your priorities a little messy. Sometimes a short break is all it takes to cure that.
I'm really not trying to troll you or start an argument, you get enough of that from everyone else. I genuinely do not like seeing people with some underlying psychological issue- I'm not saying you're dumb, crazy, or anything like that at all; it just seems like the game might be effecting your attitude in a very negative way. I recognize it only because it's happened to me before.

I currently have both a Surya's Staff +2 (macc) and a Surya's Staff +1 (cure potency) that I am stuck with because I like keeping them in my inventory at all times. I had to weigh the benefits of 2 more cure potency vs. 10 macc and -12% recast on all light-based spells. It's unfortunate that I would have to do this, but both of them are too useful to leave in the satchel.

One cant have the two Khanda+2s because they a Ra/Ex/Aug. The OAT/2-3/DA weapons are all like that but the elemental line are just Ex/Aug.
