Cait Sith's Favor

So what Avatar's Favor for Cait Sith do you want? I was hoping for Regain since we already have a Regen and a Refresh favor.

Unlikely any favor will be used without the reset penalty removed.

I use Carby's favor often when I'm doing solo outings with my NPC. A lot more helpful than my NPC always running out of MP or having to stop to heal myself if I take hate and damage.

I agree with the Regain that would be the most bad ass thing, would prolly be my next farming avatar since I do Spirit Taker like crazy. But Regain seems too good for them to add it so next thing would be Store TP? If not then Haste lol. I don't know what Cait Sith does, I'm not that far in WoTG yet then I would probably have a clue of his favor.

I think Regain would be a legit Avatar's favor to have next in line since we do have a Refresh and Regen, but question is will it fit with Cait Sith though?

Regain is plausible. With high enough overcapped summoning magic, Carby's Regan and Diabolos' refresh are amazing. Can you imagine having 3 or even 4 TP per tick with high summoning magic?

or Treasure Hunter favor would be nice and it fits cait sith (like in FF7: DoC where his punches spit coins or sumin), imagine having TH3/4 with high summoning magic and cait sith out with his favor up.

God, I do hope they don't give Regain as Cait Sith's favor, imagine the nagging you'd get from melee when I don't give it to them. But on a more serious note, I can't think of much else they can give him as a favor buff. Obviously it would have to be light-based. Even though we have Magic Evasion from Fenrir, Magic Defense Bonus maybe? idk

My 2 Cents: The complete resetting of the avatar's favor upon a rage is quite ill-conceived. If anything the rage's should take take away a set amount of the favor's buff so that we are not penalized for bp:rages.

yeah its like SE expect a smn trying to support their pt to just sit there doing nothing, fun....

as for cait's favor i think the most likely candidates are MDB or regain, though i best SE will find something completely useless to give us instead.

I'd much more rather that diabolos has a new bloodpact ability. I vote for either a "healing ruby"-like TP shower or a move that place players into a sleep state, but grants regain,HP, and mp. (duration 30 sec).

As far as cat sith, I'm guessing a critical down(mob's attack) or something to do with players recasts(something like a corsairs 2 hr that reset timers...however not that pronounced). For example, perhaps a 1~10% reduction of all timers.

Hmmm, I was under the impression that it only reset to 50% not to 0? Was this either fixed, or debunked? I swear I didn't dream it >.>

Yea, I've heard it only resets it to 50%. Never quite got around to confirm it, but I think it felt like it could be true.

Still, 20% damage reduction and lower favor effect by 50% is really harsh.

Next Diabolo's BP will most likely be Cacodemonia (the only BP that's missing from Diabolo's moves) it does AOE curse. And I'm almost sure they won't give Diabolos a healing BP.

I've always assumed that to be correct. The 50% reset in favor potency after using a blood pact never bothered me cause it never took long to come back if you're not constantly using blood pacts every time their available. Better than total reset when resummoning. Most parties I've been in (mostly dynamis before updates over the last year) had me in parties with appropriate favors. Diabolos and Shiva when back with mages for refresh and MAB mostly. Carbuncle after wipes and back up healing. People didn't expect much work out of SMN... especially me considering SMN was my only 75 job for 3 years. I refused to level anymore until recently.

And despite the reduction of physical and magical power, the reduction of perpetuation cost was welcome back then. I never had an issue with the short falls personally. When you consider avatar's feed off your MP, the trade off wasn't a total bad ideal.

I hear you there. Took me 3 years to get to 75 (started on thf which also struggled for parties and after quitting for 2nd time and giving away my gear [lvl 52], smn was the cheapest job to level but I hadn't unlocked it). Just about 60 levels of main healing before getting 70BPs sucked, and because we sucked at it, we rarely got invites. I maybe got 5 levels 20-70 where I was invited to DD. 10-20 wasn't too bad in a distortion MB party. 2nd I levelled BLM because my LS wanted it, and SMN was useless in their eyes (post ToAU when BLMs only solo'd) so that was slow too, then I finished thf so I could be good vs birds at colibri camp. I was right, but noone cared. I could out-parse most jobs apart from DRG, or a RNG with money to burn, but unless I made the pt, noone invited me. Finally I decided to treat myself and level brd to feel wanted, and it worked for a few months until abyssea came out, then noone wanted brd anymore.

Now? I hear voidwatch favours SMN, but I haven't tried that. Otherwise it's only pulled out for solos that my THF can't do (Cuelebre etc.) or for pet burns.

Pretty much. It's disheartening to go whm now for litarally to do any thing inside abyssea but now nearly forced to outside now. Even worse is that feeling of retiring the job now that I'm on dnc a lot more.

If you're fighting low level stuff the penalty doesn't really make a huge difference, it's pretty noticeable instead if you fight high level things, sadly =/
I guess Avatar's Favor has its uses, but the penalty and the small range (10 yalms?) make it much worse than it could have been, sadly.
