Wings of the Goddess is tied to the original story, as in it's the Crystal War 20 years prior to your character's start as an adventurer.

Walk of Echoes is tied to Wings of the Goddess.

Abyssea is tied to another expansion.

Voidwatch might be a part of something in the future, though!

Well the cutscene when you get all rank 4s involves WOE's Kupofried and WotG's Cait Sith. Also abyssea is full of cavernous maws, and confluxes that are all connected to atomos.
