distance issues doing Crismon Carpet I in Abyssea Attoahwa

This deals with rear trap near Conflux 2. No matter where I stand for 1 yalm and 2 yalm, I always get Paltry results. For 3 yalm, if I stand right next to the trap (less than 1 yalm away), I always get a moderate result. For 4 yalms, if I stand right next to the trap, I get Hefty Result.

I use Windows XP though I use a older computer that is about 5 years old.
I got cable modem with Charter
I do this quest every game day to get head seals and raise the fame in that zone when I'm online.
The area is Abyssea-Attoahwa at E 8/9 area (just north of Conflux 02)
It doesn't matter what my main or support job is set for this quest, I usually go BLM main or BLM sub for warp. I always just do this job solo cause it takes less than 2 minutes to do. I am a Hume that plays on Leviathan server.
The most recent occurance was on Windsday approximately 14:55 CDT (right at the start of the game day) on August 19, 2011.
Steps I did.
1. Prime the trap for infusion which gives me the distance away.
2. I stand right next to the trap (less than 1 yalm away). For 1 and 2 yalm distances I always get Paltry results. for 3 yalm distances it becomes Moderate. for 4 yalm distances it is Hefty.
3. If I stand further away from the trap using the proper yalm distances, I always get paltry results. For example, I use the inner ring of the trap as 1 yalm, outer ring as 2 yalm, two steps away from outer ring as 3 yalm and 3 steps away from outer ring as 4 yalms. If I do this same quest in the other abyssea zones I usually get substantial or hefty results by using the yalm distances I describe in step 3.
