View Full Version : Rebalancing field manuals and grounds tomes

Hi, Grounds tomes are nice exp and all, but isn't it a bit too bad that all the field areas in the game now are almost completely empty?

I think it is refreshening to be able to exp out in the open too, and not always be down in a dark dungeon. It is however not very efficient to do so when the grounds tomes give a lot more exp than the field manuals, so how about lessening the exp gap between the two?

Furthermore, most people I've talked to find it very boring to stay in the same area for hours and hours, even when they're not even fighting, because leaving would kill their exp bonus. I think it would be better if either capping exp would happen faster, or that leaving and reentering without having used a grounds tome elsewhere wouldn't send you all the way to the bottom of the exp ladder. Or just remove the exp increase completely and always give a more or less static amount of exp.

Please leave the FoVs alone, I'm fine with lesser XP from pages if it means I don't have to compete with hordes or zergers like those making many GoV zones deserts.

I would prefer to leave the GoV alone all together they are fine as they are as far as the experience given and suggesting a static amount is a horrible idea. I mean GoV finally give you decent experience for the time it take to kill those mobs especially if you solo alot like I do, doing manuals finally seem worth it now despite the competition.

I do agree however that leaving the area and losing the experience built sucks espeically if you need to resupply items or re-cast signet because it has worn out or even go do the tactics pearl so you can do more fellow runs while you're still in the mood for it.

I also agree that it is tiring always being in dungeons where usually there is only one exit that is often far away from the manual and mobs needed for the page. also I would like more places to level my fellow who is now level 77 beside zehrun mines where competiton can be stiff at times. It would be nice to revamp Fields of Valor to be similar in nature to Grounds of Valor to revitalize outdoor areas and provide more variety. Maybe FoV page experience can be like half the maximum of a GoV of the same or equivalent level of mobs. In general, I would like to see 1 FoV and 1 Gov of equivalent level with one being dungeon and the other being outdoors. It may require some mob redistribution as well as respawn tweaking but still would be nice.

Yeah I have to say it's nice to go do some FoV's now, and again w/o a horde of pink power rangers to compete with. I understand the OP desire to switch up scenery, but from a purely selfish standpoint I like that the casual element has moved somewhere they are contained at.

GoV manuals should allow you to recharge tactics pearls and apply signet/sanction for a cost of some tabs.

Are you saying that FoV is now non-casual?

Anyway, even with more equal exp from FoV, there's still going to be lots of areas where you won't see an entire alliance fighting. Considering the amount of EXPers is finite, they would now be distributed across a lot more areas.

I also got a good idea a bit ago, when it comes to repeating pages. What if your character could "write down" the contents of a page and bring it with them? You'd get a temp item that you could activate from your item menu to repeat the page you just did, instead of flocking to the same book all the time. This would enable people to choose any of the pages, regardless of distance from the book, and still get decent exp from it. This would further spread people out to avoid problems such as "hordes of zergers".
