I'm just curious as to why there's still tax in Aht Urhgan. I remember from the storyline that the tax was being applied as some sort of measure (kinda fuzzy on the details) against the empire. But, when you clear the storyline, the middle east gets on good terms with the three nations and Jeuno. So, after you get to the end of the storyline, shouldn't there be no tax?

I think this was done because of the heavy traffic Whitegate used to get. Lower taxes in jeuno encouraged more even population distribution. At this point, I think all AHs should have the same taxes.

I think he meant Bazaar tax, and yes it's pretty pointless and annoying.

Well both the bazaar and the AH taxes in Aht Urhgan are rather useless now. Heck, even the taxes in Jeuno are a bit less relevant, though I can understand why they kept that one.
Still I doubt removing the taxes will make Whitegate popular again, Abyssea trumps all I suppose.

Of course new content will trump old content...
The only reason Whitegate was as popular as it was, was because all the endgame content was more or less around that area, and all the wasn't could be accessed through the Warp Taru taking you home or to Jeuno.
Before WG, Lower Jeuno was the main HUB. I don't think theres a reason to make WG popular again? Either way, i think Bazaar taxes there should be removed.

As long as they don't make puting stuff on the AH in the home nations more expensive IDC what they do.

Would allowing this hurt anyone?
No, people can still buy and sell from bazaars as usual.
It might; this may hurt sellers profits, as prices may go down.
Would this help anyone?
Yes, it would make it faster and easier to buy and sell currency.
It might help buyers if prices go down.
It might help more people get Relics, because they're more affordable.
The reasons to do this outweigh the reasons not to.
"Make it so."

I am not sure how these "pros and cons" apply. Whitegate is practically deserted, minus Besieged goers. Most people just go back to the starter areas to sell stuff on the AH, and this point, even with the taxes removed, they'd probably do the same because the starter cities and Jeuno have more access to end game areas than Whitegate. Heck, even those cons sound fishy, how would removing the taxes from an area that's barely used anymore for reasons other than the taxes make the prices do down?
Not saying that the taxes should remain... just that I fail to see how these are going to apply, unless they revamp Aht Urhgan for end game.
