I was curious to see if anyone knew about it being down. It's been down for over 24 hours since I tried to use it. I didn't see anything about it in the maintenance log. Honestly, I've been very patient in trying to get back into Final Fantasy 11 but it seems like the online service as a whole is complete garbage at the moment. I'll give it another day or so before I find another game to play.

I think it has been down since Aug 1. My friend and I were reactivating characters and mine worked on July 31 and his is frozen from Aug 1. Support says there is no idea when it might be back.

Have you actually contacted the Customer Support, is it really officially down?

I can only find announcements of by-gone issues where the service was seemingly re-instated already except for this one:


The previously suspension of Character Reactivation Service is now anticipated to be completed on Jul. 2, 2011 15:30 (GMT).
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience.


Can't seem to find anything after that.
That is on the European-site... there is this on the US one:


We are happy to announce that the Character Reactivation Service, temporarily suspended since March 7, 2011 8:00 (PDT) due to the World Merge, has resumed service as of Jun 8, 2011 6:10 (PDT).

They're in a bit of a mess, I think, especially when comparing the info they post in different sections of different sites...
Might be better to just have one site for everything...

Yes, I have spoken to their technical support on the phone 3 times on this between the 1st and now. They all said it was down. The last time I asked "is there a general idea of when it may be back?" and was told "I wish I knew."

I assume this is why if you use the chat feature and put it you are having a character reactivation issue they will kick you off when it is your turn. But that is just a guess.
