When a skillchain is being performed and the person closing the skillchain "Blinks" (gearswaps) the skillchain itself usually does not show under normal circumstances.

This is a problem that has plauged the game since its created. I still cannot believe that all the years it has not been fixed. I think a reason people don't care for skillchains is because they cannot see them or see how much damage they are actually doing.

If this is fixed people may actually care about what weapon skills they have, or hold onto their tp for 1 extra swing to put out some great damage. Its a shame less than 10% of the community knows how to make skillchains and actually do them.

It's probably not fixed because the same glitch can also be beneficial when using job abilities or getting hit by hostile spells. By gear-swapping, you can prevent being move-locked by animations.

It's no problem that the animation is canceled, but I think the battle log should still display the damage dealt.

It's more like a feature than a bug in my opinion... but yeah, I'd like it to be changed as well, so that the animation (not to mention the log) would be unaffected by this 'blinking' which in itself is a rather annoying feature.

If they could at least make the character outlines to stay visible, or something like that, I think it would be a lot better all in all but it's probably not too easy of a feat to do due to how things are built in the game... unfortunately.

The odd thing about it is that the effect on the mob is removed by the player blinking.

I was always of the impression that WSes, SCs and such were always just extensions of the player character effects/animations, with the skill effect positioned at a distance away from the player equal to the distance from the player to the target.

But again, I don't really care. I just don't want the battle log to be affected by what's displayed visually by the client, but rather what the server is actually doing.

Yeah, the animation missing is annoying, but not game breaking. Missing the text in the log is more of a pain. I have this a lot with PUP, since it's one of the few jobs still capable of skillchaining. I do a nice little maton > master skillchain, then swap back to tp gear, but if it's done too soon noone even sees the damage...

I think there's a fix to the blinking thing in the form of a 3rd party tool, but it's kind of odd (and potentially dangerous) you'd have to rely on that to fix a problem SE should have fixed years ago...
