I know that putting the dev tag on the title doesn't help matters, but still, here are a few questions about the level cap increase I have.
A) When is it?
B) What are the spells/abilities we will learn between 91-95?
C) What are the new gears you have in mind for the level cap increase?
D) What about hints for the new trials?
E) Is the new merit system going to take place on this increase, or will it take place at 99?

If I may add a few to your list of questions. I'm curious what's going down with the (Dynamis Revamping part II) and (Daily Reward System) which are slated for this next major update.
I'm also curious about when/how they plan on revamping the assault system but it's not even on the map, so I guess I have to wait longer on that.
The post they made was the most useless info ever. We already knew there's going to be the lv cap increase in next update...some additional info would have been nice.

Hint for new trials: current weapons will recieve a new trial or two to allow them to reach lv 95. The +2 weapons will probably be renamed to +3 (orange box). I would expect many of them to use either gems or a higher number of geodes.

Good question. All we know so far is 'August'.

You must be a nightmare at Christmas/Birthdays. How about a nice surprise, and let's see what we unravel. It's nice to learn things for ourselves; take part in the race to be the first to level your job up; be the first to find that new spell drop from a NM/chest or NPC; be the first to complete a new quest or battlefield and see what rewards you reap.
Obviously the .dat mining geeks will want to start the race early and be the first to post what they've found, but that's when those of us who enjoy playing the game, and not just following a guide, avoid reading certain threads on here.
Do us a favour, SE: Don't give away the info until after the update has been released!

I'm very confident with this one, so I'll answer it for you. It will take place at 99.

Yeah, but I was hoping for more information about the Emp weapon upgrades though.

It isn't that, it is that I have a lot of things going on and will be very busy come August 24th onward. I just wanted some info while I'm able to have free time now. That is all. Besides, info never hurts.
I'm very confident with this one, so I'll answer it for you. It will take place at 99.
Which kindof sucks imo. That means another 3-6 months of having capped merits with nothing to spend them on again.

Seems like i came across a video a while back with the new spell animations and it looked like brd was getting a new march as well, maybe equal or better than the other 2 put together, opening up more versatility for your 2nd song (god i hope)

They were just confirming things they had already said. Useful information? No. I guess it was to make SE feel better about the lack of solid information they've given us on this next update.
Merits adjustments should take place this update, while NEW merits at 99. That's what I got out of it at least.

Not sure what SE is really thinking right now. They are literally leaving it's player hanging with uncertainty, with the lack of communication as to the direction of the game, a little disappointing.

What are you so unsure about? We had an update just last month, a job manifesto a couple of weeks ago and almost daily dev information regarding jobs, walk of echoes and other content. You might not have details yet, but that's probably because they aren't finalized.
I think the team has been fairly open about discussing where they see the game going. Response to player feedback is at an all-time high (people just might not like what they are hearing). I expect to see more details in the coming weeks with the update at the end of this month or the beginning of September. Just have patience.

This is good game development policy imo, not producing set dates until the content itself is 100% finished.
However details of what is to come would be nice.

+3 levels for all these spells, following the Stone > Water > Aero > Fire > Blizzard > Thunder pattern.
I've heard Curaga V, Banish IV and Addle for WHM before 95, but can't confirm. Also heard Break for DRK, a new spell for SCH and another new spell for PLD. No idea what the new spells are though.

Don't post assumptions as fact. And don't post someone (non-SE) else's assaumptions as fact. They are not facts, they are assumptions. I don't care if you write "I think we'll probably get spell X by Lv92, spell y by 94" etc, but just don't state it as an absolute "We are getting this spell at this level" fact, because it's not.

Just a thought for level caps from 91-99...
Will beastmasters be able to keep their jug pets when they zone from area to area?
It's fine if a charmed pet is lost because it can't follow you to a new area; a jug pet should be able to follow you from area to area without having to use another one.
Also, will beastmasters ever be able to have 2 pets at one time? (would work for Summoner's too. Having 2 avatars out)

It's a bad habit to get into that often in other cases leads to stupid rumors circulating. Just don't do it.

They can break them if needed, almost every mob that conned as ep at 75 still does at 90..and probably still will at 95. They broke the rules because it would of destroyed magian trials.
Not saying they won't carry on with the pattern here but you can't state it as fact.

Because stating assumptions as fact is a bad habit. It's a habit that people need to get out of because in other instances the assumption stated as a fact could be completely off. People use this site for infomation as well as questions. If you start posting assumptions as fact, people will get incorrect infomation and start spreading incorrect rumors.
All it takes is writing "It will be this" as "I'm fairly certain it will be this". It's not hard.
Oddly, CureV going to rdm and sch is actually a fact, since the dev team stated they're going to get it sometime down the road.

No it is not. See part 3 of the SCH dev notes. They have not ruled it out entirely but they clearly state that they are looking for ways to improve SCH and RDM healing other than just adding cure v.

im more interested about the new area where npc will be able to be called....i hope abyssea (so i can fast levelling her to 90) and sea.

Instead of just simply adding a high-tier Cure, we’re looking into making it so scholars can raise their performance further by enhancing the effects of stratagem use and regen-type magic. However, this doesn’t mean that we won’t be adding a high-tier Cure later down the line.From the very post you mentioned.

What makes any of you think the update will be this month? There was a post somewhere here from Camate a few weeks ago that kind of hinted that it wouldn't be until September. The announcement says "forthcoming", not the usual "scheduled for mid or early or late (in this case August)". Forthcoming could mean anything.

Well, as a BLM, I'm expecting to see what they have in store for the 'increase elemental damage at greater risk' they had planned in their Manifesto. Also, I can see the possibility of new AMIIIs or JaIIs. Since Meteor IS expected, I'd love to see what other possible spells they can throw at us.

No. SE said SCH won't be getting Cure V this patch meaning not at 91-95. RDM on the other hand probably will since RDM learns Cures before SCH does. eg RDM learns Cure IV at 48(Before level 50 cap), SCH learns Cure IV same level as PLD(55, after 50 cap). So likely that RDM will learn Cure V before 95 cap.

People are very impatient. If we get all of the information now about the update then there won't be teaser notes to come later. They made notes for new spells, job traits, and job abilities before the last two level increases, there is no reason for them to change that now. I for one enjoy the news being released little by little, it gives me a sense of antici...

Looking at the Magic dat files, the only things I cannot confirm from this list are Cura III (although magic 475 fits with a potential pattern of Cura => Cura II => Cura III) and a level for Meteor. There is also a listing for a level 93 Ninjutsu spell, light based and enemy-targeted.
Once more, all of this comes from the magic data files. I see no reason for Square to put superfluous information into their own files, I doubt that they would go through the trouble just to try to throw off dat miners who will check it again when the next update arrives.

I wonder where the upgrades for level 95 weapons will come from (Salvage boss lol, and dynamis for relics ?). I hope the armors don't get any upgrades.

assault. Give us some friggin content for gods sakes. I say we boycott this damn game and stop paying
for nothing. Give us a new expansion and some new mobs, I refuse to continue to pay for nothing and I feel

I tend to agree with most of you, but have one thing to say. Some of you may remember when XI (and now XIV) came out, did you have any idea what did what, when and how?? How about bringing some of that back into the game? Instead of complaining about no forthcoming info, how about waiting and..... wait for it...... DISCOVERING..... I know, an old fashioned idea, but it works for me.....
I know it sounds a litlle like trolling, but what ever happened to finding things out for yourself.

i hope is just pure kill (like nm trial) or just one kind of item for all weapon, else it will be pure crap if the item are distribuited like the current chest system (yay club item do war and gaxe item to whm)

August Major Version Update
The level cap will be raised to 95 and accompanied by a broad range of changes; new content and job abilities will be added, and existing ones adjusted. This penultimate stage in the level cap increase will usher in large-scale changes while preserving balance in anticipation of the impending final rise to level 99.
The test server will be launched as the testing and fine-tuning grounds for new content being planned, and can be considered a realm wherein adventurers can experience new features under development. More details regarding the server will be made available in the near future.

Other than the Mythic point (Um... ToAU), I agree. Though Relic upgrades ended up being 99,489,765,032,975,869,034,587,659,347,085,647,039,864,936,740,386,000 WS killing blows with crap WSs before it went back inside Dynamis.

Cause they don't have to, I wouldn't be suprised if this ends up being the only teaser and they just put the update out too lol They really stressed their writers with this one, don't want them getting overworked.
I just want the date at least :(

...because currently RDM have exactly one useful RDM-specific spell, so clearly that has to stop. WHM just aren't wanted in today's content anyway.
Seriously hope they reconsider this one. A spell as powerful as Cure V is restricted to one job but they're going to give away even a niche use like Addle to multiple jobs?

whats the difference between discovering something brand new through .dats, and waiting til its brand new in game? I'm probably as excited or more so than you when i read/view a .dat minning thread looking for new THF gear i can use.
Its still a surprise to me, no matter how i learn the information, via game, or via digging.

We are living in the age of "entitlement", both in game and real life. I'm here, therefore I am entitled to everything you can lay out for me that I can get for little or no effort. You owe me, gimme. If you don't, I'll throw a temper tantrum..........or worse, I'll post in the Forum. :) Surprises and new discoveries are nice yes, unfortunately they have cumulatively lead people into the "Borg" mentality.
SE is the Borg, players are the collective, and only a few dare to have an independant thought or perform an independant action that has not been born in Port Jeuno.

That's just the date the Level Cap Increase was announced. That isn't the date of the patch. It will most likely be the first or second week of September. Remember that the earthquake back in March in Japan and the subsequent downtime also pushed back all of their plans by about a month.

More like SE added an extra two week testing cycle to test out Cure spells. Wouldn't want White Mages to get the wrong idea about having the ability to nuke anything, especially undead. :p
