Ability to Change Race

many players have played FFXI for many years, and their style of play over that have change. Some people are tired of playing the same Race that they started out the game with, but have put lots of effort into making their character very well equiped and spent many many hours to gain their 90+ jobs. Is their a way that you could implement a way to change your charter race and face type.

I think this could be pretty cool if it had some kind of quest with it, a storyline that gave it purpose. Perhaps you could only perform the quest once every 6 months? That would be fun.

I wouldn't wanna change my race...I enjoy being a taru too much, but I wouldn't mind being able to change my hairstyle :)

Race change: [DENIED] for too many reasons.

Cosmetic changes to face/hair has been asked before on dev panels and they have considered it, but it would be a low priority.

After playing a Taru since NA release, and having grown up, I must say I simply can't identify with my character anymore. I only keep playing with it because of the things I have completed. But, I regret my decision to play a tarutaru more and more each day. Even though this is not likely to happen, I keep hoping that someday it will.

At the very least, impliment something similar to The Sims to allow us to manually change hair, eyes and minor details to more personalize the character. One thing I used to hate when I played a Mithra was that half the other Mithras I ran into were the same model. If I could thrown in streaks, changed my eye color and maybe had a different pose or something. I don't know. It gets borning when everyone looks the same.

What about a cosmetic client-side only change to race/appearance?
Everyone else would see us the "normal" way but we'd see ourselves as we'd like to be.
